Heres my latest build, Mengs M911 truck ..over all a fantastic kit w tons of details. I added the resin engine they offer..actually a gorgeous model by itself. I built the kit OOB other than cutting the lower hood panels away to expose the engine. The ability to build everything into major sub assemblies, then paint made this a very enjoyable model..except the TERRIBLE fit of the tires on the rims..they just dont have enough lip to hold the tire from popping off.

The paint was model master sand sprayed over nato green primer, then I washed the entire truck w AK paneliner camo for sand ..basically it behaved just like an oil wash of burnt umber.I built up the layers going heavy on the frame and mechanical areas, then lighter on the rest. I dusted it w lightened sand to tie everything together. The wheels were rubbed w MIG gulf sand powder pigments

Hosted on Fotki

the engine was a complete drop in unit, everything fit perfectly into the kit plastic parts , a testament to Mengs engineering

and the entire build..sorry its so far away, its a very large build

any comments welcome

Very nice. It looks awesome. Do you plan to put a load on the trailer? If so, I would recommend the Rye Field M1A1 1991 (ODS) kit.

Thanks Gino ! I definitely plan to load the trailer, just ordered a set of 3d printed binders . The RFM kit sounds perfect for the load with all its details
Thanks again

Awesome model, and a really nice weathering. Maybe you should try to fill the crack/line in the fueltank

Mate that is really nice. I thought I was looking at the real thing to start with.
The Detroit 8v92 looks very accurate being an old 2 stroke grease monkey. No better sound than one of those at full noise.

Very nice. For me, it is a throw-up between Rye Field and Meng for the best Abrams kits right now. They are both top notch.

Here is a good review of the Rye Field kit.

Thanks everyone for their opinions ! I wanted a used appearance since these trucks were freshly painted in Saudi Arabia prior to the war kicking off..just enough grime to show it's been working
