Gosh, with all these Tigers showing up I think it's time to get some Shermans onto the field!

My RFM E8 is almost ready for paint, if it ever stops raining long enough for me to rattle-can prime it in the shed. The hatches are so nice that I had to leave them open, so to fill the void I added a crew from MiniArt and Tamiya figs. (These may or may not get painted by the deadline, but the tank itself will!) Stowage is a mix of stuff, and much of it is still loose or (in the case of the C-Rats boxes from Hudson & Allen) still to be made, but doesn't need to go on until the painting is done. Tracks are yet to be built, and may take some time...

Hi,
With your kind permission, I'm in with still sizzling M4A3 (76) W from Meng.
I'm planning to go with OTB build with boxart markings of Thunderbolt VI under Lt. Col. C. Abrams from 37th Tank Battalion, 4th Armored Division during Bastogne raid in December 1944.

I hope my troublesome eyesight will allow finishing successfully this model.

I was going to build an M18, but realised a better candidate had just dropped in my lap! In late July I received the RFM M4A3E8 Sherman to review ( here) and it is perfect for the Blitzkrieg. I've done some assembly, but those indy-link tracks may take until the December deadline to build - all 1000 parts of them. I've back-dated it with the early exhaust deflector and the mantlet cover fittings (but no canvas) and will do it as one of the March/April arrivals. I'll assume the review stands as my "starting" pic...

Hi All

I will be building Asuka's 1/35 Firefly, with Aber's gun and Fruil tracks. I will base it around the photograph of the Coldstream Guards Firefly at Namur, Belgium on Christmas day 1944.

Gazz, I expect the Sturmtiger sequel. The beginning is promising.
My work progress. Sd.Kfz.251 / 17D is built and painted. The camouflage and the mark were made. Remains of the weathering.

Thanks for your kind comments Kalin and GaZ!

Mission acomplished, more pics!.

Finished with: 1).- I added earth using white glue and over it dust marble in wheels, low areas of the front, back and side-skirts. 2)- Airbrushed with Flat-earth Tam iya #XF-52 in the same areas and a little weathering with airbrush over all the model. 3).- Dry brush in tracks (Humbrol, Polished Steel #27003), and the following with Humbrol, Metal #056, screws, metal box, handles, support of side-kirts and lateral plates front and rear. 4).- Oil (Hobby Color #H342) in the screws of the wheels and sprocket wheels. 5).- Mufler MIG using pigments mixing Standard Rust (#P025) and Old Rust (#P230) and for the gun barrel Gun Metal (#P231). 6).- Finally a coat airbrushing with AMMO/mig - Ultra-matt, Lucky Varnish.

Thank you Gazz, Stuart.
Stuart, the seats are two. What you see in the photos is for the loader. The gunner's seat is behind the cannon.
Soon I will show photos that give a good look at the machine.
Kind regards!

not to be too critical of your lovely looking half track, but the gunner's seat looks like it is on the wrong side of the gun mount,or is it just that I've had a bit too much medication.

Thanks again GaZ

More updates:

Starting the weathering using Humbrol, Black-matt # 33 very diluted with AMMO / mig, Enamel Odourless Thinner (A.MIG-2019) - the excess is dragged down with a clean brush and moistened with thinner.

More pics:

Added details as tool (painted with New Wood - A.MIG-0037), anntenae (Metal - Humbrol #56), Machine gun painted with Humbrol Gun-metal #8189 (Metalcote) and Track-links (painted: Dark-track - A.MIG-35 and finished with drybrush Humbrol, Polished Aluminium) - Hatches with Interior Cremeweiss RAL-9001 - A.MIG-35), Periscopes painted with: Crystal Periscope Green - A.MIG-096.

Decals ready!, I used Humbrol DecalFix, it works excellent!. In the instruction sheet, the 2nd. mark I added on the rear it have the half the size of the one that applies to the model. The marks are from the 665th Infantry Division, Bologna (Italy), February 1945.
