One that's finally coming along. The AFV Club offering. Getting ready to do the hard part for me with MERDC - painting the pale sand and black. Not sure why I carried the colors down the lower hull since it will be covered up with dust, dirt and other grime

This looks excellent! What colors/mix did you use? Also what colors did you use on the Leopard in the background? You're paint mixes just seem so on point to me!

Thanks. The colors for both tanks are AK Real Color straight from the bottle. The Leopard is Gelb-Oliv and the M60 is Field Drab and Forest Green.

Looks real good. Saw lots of the A2s while at Ft Hood in 70s, wearing the MERDC scheme.

I picked up some of the M85 MG barrels and cooling jackets in 3D resin, really improves the look of that kit item.

Question I have: Is there some magic to getting the roadwheels to mount easily onto the arms? The "torsion bars" are pretty weak, and I'm concerned about trying to force the wheels onto the swing arms.

I'll let you know how those wheels go on; haven't tried them yet. Each roadwheel has that little rubber o-ring trapped inside, not sure how that might help. Did you get the M85 replacements on Shapeways?

Yes I did. I had emailed an inquiry about having the M85 barrel picked up as an AM item shortly after the A2 was released, and darned if the Shapeways site didn't have one on offer about 6 weeks later!

Just in case, since you seem to delve into eras that I follow (Reforger, etc), Shapeways also offers M60-D 7.72mm MG with spade grips.

I also recently purchased from a company in Italy (F-E models, maybe?) a 3-D .50 cal with blank adapter fitted to the barrel. Includes mount, ammo tray and can, two separate barrels with adapter, and a full gun with adapter. Very sharp.

As a crewman on one, in Germany, may I suggest repainting the cable to the searchlight black?
If you have any questions I can offer personal observations

That one is on my punch list as well as replacing the M85 barrel when my new ones arrive. Any other suggestions most welcome.

What color did you use for the mantlet cover? All your colors are so natural looking. Great job!

I admit I find it ironic that what was a failed tank design could provoke so much interest in the modelling world.
