Well, if it isn't too late, my gunner's hatch, did not have a handle. The Loader would go inside, and unlock the hatch from inside.I would lift up on the padlock hasp on the hatch edge.
Also those round circles and square lines on the front slope are not on the real thing.

Carl, thanks for the suggestions.

The searchlight cover looks good, but I believe there should be two straps that wrap from the cover around the back side, to secure the cover to the light housing.

Thanks. Need to add that. Do you know if the straps are on the top/bottom or on the sides?

Looking good. The cover straps are on the top and bottom of the light.

The straps attach to the torsion bars at the rear of the light mount assembly, as seen in this excellent example by Steven Zaloga.

It may be too late to change but the periscope in the middle of the drivers hatch was for the infra-red night driving periscope. It would only be used at night. If the driver was using it he would drop the front scope since it obscured forward vision for the night scope. The front periscope had a cradle so it could be put up or down with out dismounting it. I drove M60A1s but the drivers hatch was pretty much the same on both tanks. You also could not open the drivers hatch with out dismounting the night scope.

4 straps, top and bottom, disconnecting/connecting the bottom ones was harder on an A2,less room underneath.

Thanks! This is doable. One other change Im doing is swapping the M85 barrel with one I got from Shapeways.

When AFV started the A1 and A2, I posted to Shapeways asking for a better M85 barrel, and I don't think it was more than one month and it appeared as a product! Purchased it right then!
