My young Lt. has received a beret and looks like he is writing the bike off as a loss.

Or....

Thinks: "So, it's attach sub-assembly A to sub-assembly C with bolts R, T and V and then attach part J with bolts F, G and K ?"

Inspirational work Jerry.

Hahahahaha yep,that works as well!

A few more hours rendered my eyes and stiff fingers out for the count but I did get this far!
Impressive little kit here but man o man that front fork was a trial.
I still have the rear rack and saddlebags to build and then add the cables and wires before painting. I also have to snuggle the rider down so his feetsies reach the ground and give him his kit, etc.also his special leather ear pads/chin strap/goggles.
Bronco did a fine job with this one I think.

Thanks for looking,

In 1/35 and in 1/1! 😖 Nice natural looking body position on this guy. Looking forward to more progress.

Cheers!🍺

Hello Jerry.
I need for future a couple of German motorcycles, and it is just very difficult to chose from models available. Updating a Tam is a no longer option to my perspective. This one, although and English bike is the level I want, building good detail. A good advice is needed from my side for German a heavy motorcycle, like Zundapp or DKW. Don't forget the captured ones, very hard to get in plastic.

Love your work,

Kind regards

Thanks buddy! Always keep the bees in mind. No bees=no food!
I take no credit for the riders' pose,it is right from the box. I just changed out the head and made everything conform correctly.

Thanks Robert for the kind words. Sorry I can't help with your query because I haven't built a heavy German bike in decades! Last one I built was the excellent Tamiya DKW. The kit looked great to me. Maybe could use some PE spokes.

Super-cool bike definitely worth the hassles, looks like the extra-fine brushes are about to get a workout

Excellent bike work Jerry . I've built just about every bike that's been manufactured except the Trumpys you're building . My only complaint has always been the cylinder heads never match up or are usually too flash covered and seam lined .
Nice progress !!!

Tim and Cheyenne, thanks Gents for the fine comments.
For the record, this is a Bronco kit though and not Trumpy.
And yes, many many fiddly bits and fine brushes,

LOL , yes I know it's a Bronco kit , I've been following your build from the start , as I always do to watch your magical Hogwarts like morphing of plastic .
I meant Trumpy as in Triumph not Trumpeter , back in the day we used to rebuild TR4's , sixes and mc's , also MGB's , my brother and I always had a couple of vehicles in my parents driveway , drove em nuts .Then again that's what teenage sons used to do , steal your food and beer and break their hearts . Their Lucas electric systems sucked . We always referred to Triumphs as Trumpys .

Ah yes,my buddy down the block was doing that as well. A nice old TR3 with the bug headlights. I forgot that nickname works for that too.

Another layer on the dispatch dude. Added a holster, special leather liner for the helmet, lanyard for the pistol and a dispatch case. Need to fix the lanyard knot at his throat and add the goggles and he's ready for some paint to be slathered on.

Worked on the saddlebags. The right one is still untouched.

After a few hours working on this guy tonight till my eyes got crossed I ended up here.

Kinda disappointing.

Tomorrow is another day. Fresh look may bring results. Lots to do yet on him,
J

I have the greatest respect for eye-painters – I consider I’ve got good eyesight & fine motor skills yet I long gave up attempting what you can do JR, totally & utterly beyond me. That said, I partially forgave my lack of talent with the excuse that at 1/35 scale eyeballs are so small (unless they’re very goggle-eyed) it’s kinda unrealistic to depict them at all. THAT said, you’re ahhh 75% towards proving me wrong with this guy - the other 25% might be found (with one of your nano-brushes) by just bringing his upper eyelids down 0.01 of a millimeter maybe?

Don't worry Jerry - I'd be wide-eyed (and in danger of filling my Battledress trousers) with the prospect of 12 SS Panzer approaching!

A slight technical point: make sure the buckles of the Water Bottle carrier engage with the trailing straps of the "Saddlebags". I'm not sure of the relevant strap/buckle thicknesses but it should have been conceivable for the 2 equipments to engage.

Keep at it!

Brian

Thanks Brian.
Good point. After a few recent builds I finally have half a grasp on the mysteries of Commonwealth kit and I had noticed that point. It is all a matter of "is the extra effort here going to impact the overall story"?
Maybe not but now you called me on it so it will be dealt with. LoL

Got the bike done except for the dust and dirt. Had to hand paint the unit emblems on the gas tank though. No teeny decals for that.

Wow! Impressive, particularly the charging bull div sign. If the figure is a dedicated DonR, I'm a bit surprised the maker didn't supply him wearing "Pantaloons Motorcyclists" (riding breeches) and the tall lace-up riding boots. I used to wear a pair of the breeches many years ago to ride my bike. They have a tough canvas inner leg and are surprisingly comfortable to wear rather than gathered in normal trousers. He should also have white over blue (Royal Signals colours) arm bands. However if he is an internal regimental rider these are optional.
