I was a bit disappointed that the MiniArt T-55 mod 1981 did not include AT missiles. I know they are very expensive, but would like to include them with the tank.

Is there anyone making these in 1/35?

Since I don't know how this T-55 kit fits into all the different designations or T-55's I just provide this link:

I hope that you all can figure it out, I'm too tired ...

Hi;

Andras; Are You Sure about what you are Asking;
Yes the Anti/tank missiles would be expensive on the T-55 !!!! But on A 1/35 scale kit, then it would have cost little or nothing to have them included in the kit.
As for making them in kit form, there is just not that much call for them; And just about the only Kit maker that includes Missiles in there kit's is Panda ! And the only other AM maker is MINIARM with there range of 125mm ammo.

Hi;

FYI; Meng and TM made Anti/Tank missiles for there Terminator's !! Now with A little skill, it would not be to hard to Scratch the missiles for the T-55..

Not sure what mod 1981 entails as it is not an actual designation, but I'm pretty confident.

That's the thing: the guidance system would need to be fashioned, too... (The outside laser guidance is actually included with the kit.)

Did you read through the link you provided ?

"T-55 variants known to be fitted with the system include: T-55M, T-55AM, T-55M-1, T-55AM-1, T-55D, T-55D-1, T-55MV, T-55AMV, T-55AM2PB (all RFAS models), T-55AM2B (produced in the former Czechoslovakia) and T-55AM2P (produced in Poland)."

T-55A isn't listed. Here's a review of the kit by Cookie Sewell
http://www.missing-lynx.com/reviews/russia/miniart37020reviewcs_1.html

Here is some info from wikipedia
"T-55M (Ob'yekt 155M)/T-55AM (Ob'yekt 155AM)[108] – Modernization of respectively T-55 and T-55A with new "Volna" fire control system, 9K116-1 "Bastion" ATGM system with new 1K13 BOM guidance device/sight, improved "Tsiklon-M1" gun stabilization system and TShSM-32PV sights, V-55U engine,[111] improved suspension and RMSh tracks, increased armour, anti-mine, anti-napalm and improved anti-radiation protection and new R-173/173P radio set. Visual differences include a laser range-finder in an armoured box fitted over the main armament, side skirts, 81 mm "Tucha" smoke grenade launchers, BDD turret brow armour and glacis appliqué, and rear RPG screens (only used rarely in Afghanistan)"

Andras;

Perhaps, distilling from the various bits of discussion, your quest may want some clarification?

The Sov's upgraded many of their T-55, as mentioned, to enable use of the main-gun-launched "Bastion" AT-missile system.

So, one question might be "Are YOU seeking to build one of these upgraded T-55?".

IF SO: As I think becomes clear from discussion bits, you'll need to upgrade the external visible features so as to depict the added target-designator / ranging equipment. Which details are found on various "upgraded" and later-version T-55 kits (AMV, AMB, etc.).

IF you are going for an INTERIOR build, the interior aspects of the revised fire-control system would need to be added in. I have no idea if any of the current "interior" kits offers these components... But a "correct" upgraded, "Bastion-capable" interior would require them.

But maybe another question is lurking...? The gun-launched Bastion was supplied as a missile inside a breach-compatible cartridge for handling inside the turret. So... Are you seeking to find and use the Bastion "round" in a build? Or are you trying to depict a Bastion missile after it has been launched, or as some "stand-alone display missile"?

I don't know that any 1/35 "Bastion rounds" are out there on the AM market, but I suspect that what needs to be made to create such a round would be the nose-cone of the contained missile - which would be added to an extant main-gun round casing as needed. You would need a photo of the Bastian round to build this... But building such a round seems, at first guess, to be a pretty easy thing - I'm pretty sure that no vulnerable small guidance fins and stuff would be left exposed to get damaged during handling and loading into the gun, so I presume that we would be talking of a nose-cone on a cartridge case...

The stand-alone AT missiles supplied in those Meng and TM "Terminator" kits, are much larger, tube-launched ATM. I presume that the "out-of-tube" missiles are supplied for those considering showing such "on display", or maybe trying to depict a missile "launched, in-flight" (if fins are erected, etc.) - or a tubed missile ready to be loaded into the launcher (in which case, the missile itself is encased in a tube and not visible...)! But what YOU are seeking is a rather different proposition: The much-smaller Bastion could reasonably be depicted as its typical cartridge item inside a turret or as being loaded - but I doubt that a Bastion missile "standing alone" would be what you are seeking, unless perhaps you are building a display tank with its various weapons out on some sort of display?

Just some thoughts!

Version "C" is T-55 round , not too difficult to scratchbuild. See also:

Do search for "3UBK10-1 " and you'll find more pics.
