James this is outstanding work. Sorry for your loss, but your family must be very proud of this dedication.
I revisited this and carefully went back thru all the images. Thank you for the detailed descriptions as I just realised the figure w/ any real articulation is the platoon leader and his left leg being bent. It's very subtle, but it's as if he's becoming slightly unhinged. Well done.
What an interesting backstory as well.
