Yesterday I accidently found a nice video on Youtube, which I want to show you. It shows some Leopard 2A6 near the Grafenwöhr Training Area in southern Germany. Look at that exhaust fumes of some of the Leos. Maybe the drivers think "Eat particulates!" To me it looks awesome and remembers me of my own tanker time .... The 12 cylinder MTU engine has no Diesel Particle Filter (DPF) as far as I know. And play the video loud, it's music to our ears, isn't it?

Oh, and we have 2 new enlisted participants. Welcome to Richard from the UK and to John from Canada! Thanks for your support! Do you have already a kit in mind, which you want to build?

Have a nice Sunday!

I now have the plastic (and resin) for Leopard 2 Marksman:

There was 2 and half week postal strike in Finland, which worried me a bit, because the conversion kit was somewhere in transit, but now I have it.

I still have to get decals from somewhere, but I'm not too worried about them. Mainly generic roundels and Ps serial are needed.

Wonderful photos, Marc. Thanks a lot for sharing! I remember the dutch 2A4 well during my army time. My unit was based in Lüneburg and we have been very often at Bergen-Hohne for training, probably 4 times a year. We often met dutch comrades along the way, they also came with their Leos and DAF trucks to our baracks for refueling sometimes, coming from their barracks Langemanshof. We had a good relationship to eachother. Btw., do you plan to take part in this campaign? Just curious ....

That's good news, Pasi! Have read about the postal strike in Finland. I hope your patience is long enough not to begin earlier than May with this fantastic build. In "Militärfahrzeug 4/2019" from Tankograd is a report of that tank with some interesting photos. It's surely on my wish list. I had to search a bit but then I found this short sequence of a firing ItPsv Leo 2 Marksman. Most vids are with the older one on T-55 chassis.

@ Torsten,

Not sure if I'll participate.
Still recovering from an Ebay fraude, that cost me a Meng 2A4.

I'm sorry to hear that, Marc. What happened? Did you fall for a fake shop? Can you get your money back?

It's still 6 months to go before the campaign starts. So time enough to recover and maybe join later.

For several years I ordered my kits from an online shop here in Germany. Never had a problem with them. Meanwhile we have a dealer in our club and he is only a phone call or an E-Mail away. Usually he brings the ordered kits to the club meetings

Torsten,

The kit never arrived. The Track & Trace said it was delivered, but the transport log stopped at delivery at the Dutch national airport...
Paypal just told me that the T & T said it was delivered, so they declined my claim. I had bought the kit from a Chinese seller on Ebay who stopped business, shortly after I had placed the order.
Fraude with fake T & T logs, seems to happen more often, unfortunately

Sorry to hear it Marc, but don't let it set you back! Plenty more kits out there to be acquired and built.

I do indeed have my entry

Unfortunately, although the instructions show a 2A6 gun

the kit provides only a 2A5 weapon

On a related note to the thread "How to do customer service"
I have contacted Revell and they will be (eventually) sending the correct barrel, no quibbling, so that's nice.

Ryan, that's a nice catch! Would you mind to show us the PSM parts a bit closer? I'm especially interested in the gun ....

Richard, the customer service of RoG (Abteilung X) is very helpfull. As I wrote here earlier, I needed their support twice for new decals for an aircraft and the ATF Dingo and got them for free. It may take a few weeks but I'm sure you'll get that missing parts. It's strange though that they've put the L/44 gun inside ....

This is my Leo 2 duett, 2A4 from Hobbyboss and 2A6M from Revell, built in 2013 and 2014 just oob .... You have a different kit than I have. Mine had only 4 german options and the kit number 03097.

Thanks, Ryan. That's perfect! I'll contact PSM and ask if the gun will also fit on the Revell kit. Have 2 here (2A4 and 2A5).

I just got Tiger Models Revolution 2 in the mail yesterday. Would that count for this campaign? I'm guessing that the answer is "no" but I figured that I would ask anyway because it looks like a fun build! Thanks!!!

Rich, you can enlist if you like Of course the Leopard Revolution is valid for this campaign as it fulfills campaign rules 1 and 2. So go for it if you want! Have a look at the indonesian Leopard I have posted on page 2. Here are some more ....

Hi guys!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2020. Hope there were some Leos under the christmas trees here and there.

It's still some time to go before the kick off here, so I was searching for some videos and found this nice anniversary vid at KMW. Several generations of Leo 2 side by side.

Hi Torsten and gents,

I'm in as well. I have a 2A4M Canada kit from HB that I've been itching to build but will wait till May to get started.

Cheers,

Johannan, thanks for joining the fun here soon and welcome! I have updated the list of participants on page 1. That's a good choice you've made. Those canadian Leos look really cool with that "birdcage".

And you are sure you don't want to build a Leopard 2SG .... ? There are decals out from Echelon for the 2A4. I'm thinking about getting a set as I have a few 2A4 in my stash.

Have fun

Hi Torsten,

I am very tempted by that too! Yes I met Larry from echelon sometime back and he mentioned producing the 2A4SG decal set.

Another modeller actually has built one, scratching all the unique add ons and rear grill after eye-balling one at the army open house. He did a great job. Let's see if I can get a few photos up here.

Cheers,
Johannan

As luck would have it, Santa brought me the Meng 2A4 for Christmas!

Johannan, that would be great, if you can share some of the photos with us here. It might help someone who wants to build a 2SG.

Gaz, that sure was a good job from Ol' Santa. I find it remarkable that he always makes it right on time in every corner of the world coming from his "home base" in Rovaniemi ....

Okay, so I managed to resist building my Hobby Boss Leopard 2A4. Count me in I'm also considering picking up a Tamiya 2A6 before the campaign start.

Hi Torsten,

As promised here are the pics of the Leo 2SG based on the Border kit with add-ons from numerous other kits and lots of scratchbuilt detail. The modeler's name is Jeremy Neo, and he specialises in SAF vehicles including the CEV, Terrex, Bionix, Hunter etc. Anyway here are the shots of the model. Its on display at a LMS and portrays one of the Leos which was part of the mobile column during the 50th National Day parade.

I couldn't resist sharing this as well, although its still a work in progress..Leo 2SG AVLB

Hope these pics are as inspiring to you as they are to me! Looking forward to this GB kicking off!

Cheers,
Johannan
