Construction done. The beige parts are the original kit, the casemate is sprayed with dissolved sprue to give it some texture

The lower hull/super-structure fit isn't the best, nicely replicating the gap look of the 80mm front plate

Some texture on the gun mount using liquid glue

Still have to make up the side skirts, but pretty much ready to paint.

Here's my start of this campaign. I'm working on the Special Armour TACAM from ICM that I picked up at an AMPS show several years ago. Never build a Special Armour kit to date, though I've built some ICM stuff in the past.

Hull sides went together well with minimal problems. The front hull plate gave me a bit of trouble, but I was able to overcome that obstacle with some glue and clamps.

This campaign is filled with lots of very inspirational work. Looking forward to seeing them all at the end of this one.

Cheers and stay safe wherever you are!

Hopping in this one with Dragons 234/4. Great kit so far with the usual Dragon instructions. A bit of head scratching and swearing so far. What's the MO on photo uploads these days? 10 years ago photobucket was the move for posting to FSM and here, but seems they make you pay now.

Yes a lot use Imgur now. Just remember when you copy the link to the pic, Imgur does not add the pic type to the address. You have to add .jpg, .gif, .bmp or whatever image type the pic is to the end of the copied link.

Gracias.

Put together the beginning of the frame, and chassis earlier. There's a few steps I'm skipping to make painting a bit easier. This went together easy enough, just had to dry fit quite a few pieces prior to gluing due to...Dragon Directions.

Interior hull tub is being put together. Pardon the bad paint job. It'll get touched up shortly once I've got access to my airbrush again. There's a decent amount of stuff to do on the interior still and I'll post some more pictures once I get enough work done to warrant another post.

It's kind of an enjoyable kit so far, but there's so much [auto-censored] to clean up on the small parts that its taking more time than an equivalent tamiya kit would. There have been quite a few parts as well that could have been cast as one or two piecers instead of 5+ part subassemblies. /endrant

Howdy Y'all
I've started working on my Dragon 1/144 tank destroyers. My first model will be a Hetzer 38t Late. I'm also building the flame thrower version at the same time.

I dry fitted the tops and bottoms.

Does anyone know if the Flammpanzer Hetzer is supposed to have that hole in the mantle?
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Don, looking good ! Could you please post another couple of images with, say a Quarter, for scale to show how tiny these kits are?
Thanks !

Don, your eyesight is better than mine! 1/144 eh?

A quick google suggests that hole is a moulding defect - the few shots of flammpanzer hetzers out there are solid in that area.

Hi all
involved in another campaign till recently, I did'nt start this one yet.
Here is my entry: Takom AMX 13/75 SS11. I will build it as a French army tank in memory of a late friend who was platoon leader on this tank and helped Takom in gathering data during the design process.
My intent is to build it OOTB. However I may fix accuracy issues if there are some. I'm not decided yet on swapping the tracks for the rubber padded ones which were more common at the time than the all steel ones.

A little bit more progress.

Ivanhoe-photo with a bottle of Tamiya cement, clothes pin and a Quarter to give you an idea of the scale. The clothes pin also helps as a clamp. I only work on these in the morning when I get direct sunlight through the window behind me. Strong lighting and a powerful pair of reading glasses helps me with the small parts.
I plan on doing 5 German AFV's: Hetzer 38(t), Jagdpanzer IV L/70(A), and a Nashorn for this campaign; a Flammpanzer 38(t) and Panther just because they're also in the boxes.
Tom, thanks for the info, I've used some putty to fill the hole in the Flammpanzer Hetzer.
Take care everyone and be safe,
Don "Lakota"

Now that is small !!!! you could recreate the Battle of the Bulge on a large dining table top lol
They look good fun to build Don, and I'm really surprised by what looks like a great amount of detail for something so tiny, they are all looking terrific so far.... will be good seeing them all together and complete.

Richard, Jagpanzer is looking very goo. Nice sag on the tracks.
David, Preshading on your Jagtiger looks good.
Chuck, nice start on your Romanian tank killer.
Jim, good luck with that Dragon kit. Always liked the 234/4.
Don, wow, those are microscopic models. Amazing detail for the tiny scale.
Oliver, cool AMX-13/75 tank. I like the rack of rockets.
Martin, your Stug turned out great. I like the camo paint scheme.

Alright, time for an update on my Hetzer build.

Decided to get the cut-a-way operation done first.

Started on adding details to the interior. Got the driver painted with a base coat. Also, cut the fire wall for the commander's niche.

Thanks for viewing. Good luck all on your projects. Bill

Wow, some great works!

Don... That's so small! Airbrush or paintbrush?

Martin, that's beautiful!

Jim, Great progress. I always wondered a bout the inside color.

Richard, The Jagdpanzer looks great. Love the resin additions.

Richard, I have no idea what a TACAM looks like. Should be great to see yours.

Olivier, An AMX! Interesting!

William, the cutaway is interesting. Nice work thus far.

Bogi, That is one Dragon kit that is still on my wish list. I'll be interested to see how it goes together.

David, The pre shading looks good. I'll be interested to see if it shows through the other colors.
