Congratulations Alex. I never intended to build anything outside WW2, but if I change my mind builds like yours and Oliver's in this campaign will be to blame.

Thanks Bogi,

I 'm sure this type of kit would not be an obstacle for a nice built for you.

Well I finally got some time with the Badger Krome and the new compressor:

and I have to say it is one VERY nice and quiet compressor! SO I tried the AK Interactive/Meng paints and am impressed!

and so I tried this pattern but I do not like it. Actually, it is not based on anything I have actually seen ON a Bumerang, so I think I am going to f=go back and re-work it

Have to really give it to the paint though, as my previous experience in acrylics has been Vallejo Air and I did not care for it one bit. By comparison, this paint mixed easier, went on easier and I had no issues at all with spitting or having to constantly wipe the airbrush tip...just darn nice paint!

Going to go back and redo it in Green and rework the whole thing....'till then!

bit more on the staghound

I had to rebuild these in some brass wire as they were to short to fitboth sode of the exhaust

These are the reworked ones

The fit isnt the best on this kit so filled some gaps with styrene rod sanded flat after the glue dried.
i also redid some of the welds at the front end

Axles are done

as are the wheels

not a bad kit for 13 years old. a bit klunky in places but ok

Looking to join in. Recently got HobbyBoss' 1/35 39M CSABA armored car. Looks like an easy build, and I'm getting a little tired of painting things green.

And a close up of today's date in case the other one is too hard to see.

Got the build mostly done, just need to add the photo-etch tool clamps and do a little putty work in spots and it will be ready for paint.

Simple kit, could easily be a weekend build. However the parts breakdown and the fit of some parts weren't great. Not one of their better kits, but still, went together easily enough.

Painting this guy is gonna be a challenge. I'm going to try and airbrush as much as possible, but I think the bulk of the camo will have to be done by brush.

A lot of nice builds. I like the look of the Bumerang. It's the best looking AFV in the current Russian arsenal to my taste.
The Hungarian armored car was a quick build. Enjoy the painting even if this camo is a bit challenging.

Not only is it challenging, it's tedious. But I'm getting on with it. Been a few years since I've done this much brush painting. I'm spraying down the lightest color first, then doing the green and brown by hand. Coming out alright so far,

Wheels are just about done, the turret is drying and I got a base coat on the body. First time painting vinyl wheels, they certainly look better, but the paint does flake off easily. Quick builds like this are good for trying out new things.

Unfortunately I can still make out brush marks even with 3 thin coats, hoping that the chipping and weathering will help hide that.

Thanks Peter. Certainly an interesting camo pattern, it'll add some variation to the sea of green currently in my model collection.

ONly just stumbled across this campaign. Started this last weekend. Tamiya 1/35 JGSDF Type 16 MCV. Hope its ok to add up to where I am. It will be OOTB apart form te camouflage which is going to be what-if tri-tone (possibly quad-tone) digital (masks made by myself, image below)

Olivier, I picked up as something different (wanted modern to do the digital scheme even as a what-if). Goes together really well, nice movable steering, tamiya fit so no issues even with some interesting shapes in the turret. Build is nearly done (going to leave handles & tools off as expect they wouldn't survive the masking) so will prime up at the weekend. Need the 3 grey paints to be delivered which is delayed due to current social climate

Wondering if the BT series fast tanks would fit in here? Would be built in the "wheeled" configuration, have three different BT's to pick from.

Coming along very nicely Robert. Can't wait to see how that camo comes out.

Interesting idea Comrade. The Russians rarely used the option but it was capable of it and I guess they would have done it for a while. You will need Bruce to okay it though.
