He spent most of his time in southern France when the Germans conquered it. Did people flee from German-conquered France to that region, or was there free movement from one region to another? I always wondered. FYI, the biography indicated that Jacques Cousteau was a Resistance member while his brother was a collaborator who went to prison after the war. Also I remember seeing an old French movie where two people meet and they comment that they have not seen each other since before the war.
