i have used megahobby.com 3 times now. they ship very quickly. the prices are slightly higher, but they do free shipping on orders over 100 dollars.

well both of my express deliveries arrived today; Hermes was 2 weeks late and DPD a week and a half but this was the sender's fault...he apologised and put a tiny bag of Haribo in with the order! 😀😀😀

forget about ordering from the USA, I have parcels stuck in San Francisco, Chicago and New York since the middle of March and there is no sign of any of them arriving soon.

the mail here in screwed as well, even the express delivery companies like Hermes and DPD aren't succeeding...a week later and DPD's next day delivery still hasn't arrived.

That's strange but I suppose it depends where you are. Everything i've ordered (from here or abroad - Spain actually) has arrived within a week and the only traffic moving up and down our street at the moment are couriers like DPD!

My Plaza Japan order of 14th Mar 2020 was returned to the vendor due to the COVID 19 shipping restrictions. They just refunded my money. The other option was to pay for shipping again! I don't think so.

Australia’s out as well. Placed 2 orders with BNA model world shipped April 16. Both the tracking number say they haven’t even left Melbourne yet.

I'm in the same boat as you. I made a purchase from BNA on March 30 and was set to arrive on April 17. I figured it would be delayed but I didn't think this long.
You're lucky though that you have tracking, when I contacted the person there (Sivon)he said that Australia Post does not offer tracking service for standard mail

I ordered some small items from a vendor in Oklahoma on march 16th, the box was about the size of a small butter box. As it was by USPS first class international it was trackable, the packet took one day from Oklahoma to Illinois and then one month before it reached Cincinatti going through Chicago, after that it took almost three weeks before it reached Norway (pickup notice today), for almost seven weeks in total, usually it would take seven to ten days. A packet from France ordered on march 14th arrived yesterday, also close to seven weeks in total. These are the worst cases though, i have had other packets (from Ukraine and UK) arriving at normal schedules in the same period.

BNA is delivering locally within a few days, it is the lack of international flights that is causing the delays.

I once sent a package from Houston to New Jersey and, according to post office tracking, it went through Hawaii.

I hope this makes you feel better:
About 25 years ago, I ordered some items (ADV/Azimut Mack NO and Bussing Nag crane and cargo trucks)from a well-known, but now defunct mail order company with whom I have had good dealings with in the past at the beginning of my 3rd navy deployment. Six months later we came back to San Diego and I still had not received them. Called and got replacements within 1 month. The original order showed up 4 more months later (intact, safe and sound). Thank you USN mail system...
The mail order company said to keep the extras by the way

I ordered a book and it went from Memphis to Memphis, spent 5 days in transit and arrived in Memphis then left for it's destination again. Went to Mississippi then 2 days later arrived in Kansas City Missouri then on to Kansas city Kansas (about 15 minutes away if I remember correctly) then to Detroit then finally to my house 100 miles north of Det.

In defense of the USPS, you can’t always go by the update as to where a package is. I’ve ordered lots of stuff over the past few years, and found the last reported location is just a computerized update, nothing more. Case in point. I ordered an eBay item with USPS tracking that originated from St. Louis. It made it to Las Vegas, sat in their system two days, then reported “departed facility”. The same day I got “delivered”. Just as I thought “how can that be?” the doorbell rang, and there was the delivery lady with my package! That was in March. Remember too, Hawaii is generally only a one day trip from most major postal zip codes, since almost all 1st class goes by air, even now, since air is still the only way passengers get from Hawaii to the Mainland. Yet I’ve seen customs packages (basically anything coming or going via international mail) sit for many days (even weeks) before the customs folks got around to it. That’s not USPS fault, but it could be the fault of the customs either in this country or the other country.

Chicago customs usually has a quick turnover but NY can take and usually does take a looooong time to process a package
