The other tractor story I forgot to mention:

I read the story about the North Korean capture of the U. S. S. Pueblo spy ship, and it mentioned that to entertain the captured crew, their North Korean captors would show them their propaganda films. Often they consisted of young men falling in love with agricultural machines. When the Koreans asked the prisoners what they wanted to see again, one suggested that the really wanted to see the one about "the lovable little red tractor", and the Koreans were evidently not noticing the other prisoners were laughing at them.

Sounds like a great inspiration to make a model of a tractor. Are you going to make a diorama?

There are tree huggers...

Trouble is, try finding a model figure of ANY Korean, let alone one who shows an attitude of being lovestruck.

Alternatively, I know some artists I've commissioned drawings from. Like the one who did the American Legion Hall picture.

Perhaps a slightly tenuous connection with tractors, there's Takom's wonderfully named Feld-Umschlag-Gerät FUG 2.5T

Also, I have the book on Vietnam firebases and it mentions the use of regular bulldozers (as opposed to tanks with dozer blades). Wonder what were used?

I was meaning a diorama of the NKPA guy talking to the crew of the PUEBLO. It would have nothing to do with tractor models, though.

Just like your story.
