Scott,

the credits really have to go to the boys and girls behind Photoshop

I loved to do the article. Whenever an article is as nicely written and well documented with good pictures as this article was, it's a joy to do.

The credits go to Keith !! Thanks Keith

A very informative Read there Keith. I am currently working on a M10 for the Tank Destroyer's campaign which I later plan to incorperate into my very first diorama, and your work has given me a few tips on how to work a few things and plan them out.

again. an excellently written feature...

Great to see this article back on the net. Thanks keith. And Im sure a lot of new dio builders will be grateful as well. Eventhough its over 4 years since I first saw it, its still a classic build and a worthwhile read.

Have you ever considered documenting another new dio like this? Would love to see that!

Really nice article but the diorama used for this article is not my idea of "a simple diorama" :-)

Hi all

thanks for the comments, the article is quite an old one now, but i feel covers quite a lot of ground.

I wanted to show step by step how to put together a diorama, as a lot of people get put off by seeing some of the amazing work that is show on this site and others. There are no black arts (ok maybe one or two) to building dioramas. I could of broken the article into various smaller ones, but i felt the whole is greater than all the parts and everybody will be able to take out and use the parts they need.

Many thanks to Danny for his hard work, Scott for his envolvment and of course Jim who dedication to this site over the years has made it what it is today.

And last to all the modellers from around the world who visit and read and contribute every day.

Happy modelling

Hi Keith
Thanks for the article. I have found it a great help . I was however just wondering where you got the steps that the tank is coming down from .
Thanks. Nick

Hi Keith
You say in the article that teh raised ground is made of polystyrene ceiling tiles. However the only polystyrene ceiling tiles I can find are less than a centimetre thick!! Therefore I was wondering if either, do you stack lots on top of each other or do you use insulation blocks. Cheers. Nick

i generally stack on top of ack other, as they are quite thin, it also easier if you wish to produce a slope as you can cut each individual tile slightly smaller to create the slope and it produces less mess
