I've got the Skybow kit and I've seen some shots ( M41 in Action) with the M41 with a Circular searchlight and crewed by Americans.Does anyone have anymore information on this. Found one image on the net and not much more. When did this take place, what regiment...just starting my "Welcome to the 'Nam" entry (along with a PBR and Dozer M48)
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

By the time of the Vietnam War, the M41 had been replaced in US service by the M551 Sheridan. The M41 was used by ARVN forces in Vietnam, but not by the US. The are photos of M41s in Vietnam with Vietnamese crews and US advisors though.

Have to agree with MAJ Rob above. Website looks to be incorrect. All US units had M551 or M48A3 tanks by 1968. One of the pics it has identified as an M41 is an M48A3 as well. M41 was never used in combat by US forces.

Most correct.. No US units used the 41 in combat. The ARVN's used them a lot. Mostly around Saigon and at Bridges.

Heck no problem. If you weren't there you would not know. The 3/4 Cav came in country in 1966 and had the M48A3 with them. Here is a link to the 3/4 Cav of the 25th Div from Cu Chi RVN (my home fire base).

This is a great site with a lot of info about them. It covers all the Troops assigned

I'm not sure, but did the M41 see service during Korea? My sources on this are rather limited and I see Pershings, Patton 46's, Chaffees and late version Shermans. What about the duster? I'm sure that saw action somewhere.

I think the answer is no to both the M41 and M42, the Duster's predecessor - the M19 - was definitely used in Korea

M41s were not used in Korea. Production of M41 tank begun in 1951 after the major fighting in Korea was was already over.
M42 Dusters were used in Vietnam.
