Thinking that i was almost through with my M1114, I decided to change things up. While fliping threw the TM for the M1114, I came across the set up for the BFT (Blue Force Tracker), so I decided to add it to my model and take out the regular radio mount.

Then I came across the Ibis Tek fuel can rack and spare tire mount, so know i am starting to scratch those two items.

Still need to wire the smoke poppers and add the trigger for them, then I will be about 90% done.

So here is the BFT/SINCGAR mount that I scratched built. All I need to do is add the cables and then place it in the M1114. The SINCGAR is from Pro Arts and the PLGR is a home made item from our own Gino(HeavyArty)

Thank you Pete for making Humvee building look easy...

Seriously, it looks very, very good. I'm really looking forward to see this one finished. One question: At what level do you find the BFT? Is it in every vehicle, or only from plt. leader and up?

Man o man. You just keep one upping me . This is awesome. Your BFT looks spot on from my photos. The keyboard is great. You may as well as just make a mold for the entire thing and start selling them, seriously.

Anyway, I find myself in the same bind, thinking I am ready to go paint and get this thing over with and I keep looking at photos and saying, "I want that!"

Jeff

BTW, expect an update soon, I've been busy too.

This is amazing Pete! I love that BFT set up, can you tell us more about how you made it? do you have some clear pics of it at all? Id love to make one for one of my M1114's, I did make a BFT screenfor my M2A2 but couldnt use it, perhaps I can recycle it on one of these.

Love this model Pete!

Erik,
I'm really not sure what level the BFT is at. Maybe Rob or Gino can answer that better then I can, sorry buddy.

Jeff,
It's good to see that you changed your callsign, the USNavy was starting to get to me! LOL & J/K!

Rob,
How I made it, LUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, Jeff posted some great pictures of it a while back in one of the HUmmer threads, but I can't remember. I saved the pictures though if Jeff doesn't chime in here with where they are located. I also used the parts manual. I used the Pro Arts SINCGAR mount to measure the top rack and eye balled the rest so the measurements are not 100% accurate. I have the pages in my Photo Bucket album and I posted them here for every one. If you cna't find them, just let me know and I will send them your way.

Thanks guys for your comments and hopefully I'll finish this one.

I'm coming, I'm coming. Its Christmas break, so I get to sleep in some. And yes, the name thing was starting to get to me too.

Here is Pete's earlier thread on the BFT.
Correct Blue Force Tracker Layout on Hummer

Erik your question never got answered. I've heard BFT's going as low as a squad leader's humvee, but I believe it is usually reserved for Platoon leadership. Thats for Humvees.

OK I ll try not to confuse BFT and FBCB2 BFT is satellite based FBCB2 EPLRS. looking at the databases for each one The level it breaks down depends onthe unit normally co Cdr Xo 1SG plt ldr plt sgt wingman but I ve seen different laydowns for different units. working whre i do Ill be gald to try and answer some of your BFT FBCB2 questions.

As far as BFTs that I know, our plt we had 5 vehicles and three had BFT installed on them. i dont recall a vehicle ever being specifically used by someone with rank that had a BFT. what i do remember is the either the OIC or the NCOIC of the mission would have a vehicle with BFT, and that ranged from the Lieutenant to one of the sqaud leaders.
