IJN Mogami

  • move
This is the 1:700 Tamiya 1944 IJN Mogami that I reviewed here on this website. The ship was a joy to build. I added quite a few aftermarket parts to make it even better.

Tomís Modelworks-IJN Aircraft Carrier Set A: Handrails and misc. other parts and scaffolding.
WEM-IJN Doors and hatches
Gold Medal-IJN Aux ship set: Aircraft trolleys and catapults.
Gold Medal-IJN Cruiser/DD set: Crane
Lion Roar-IJN Aircraft rail and turntable set: Flight deck rails.
FineMolds IJN Type 96 AA guns
Lots of stretched sprue, various styrene and 36 gauge wire.

It was painted with Tamiya IJN Kure gray from the spray can.

I may have to re-examine my Tamiya 350 scale version to make sure that fligt deck looks like that. I bought that kit on a whim as I had already gotten the ISE and hadn't really wanted another hybid type

There were times that I didn't have the patience ether. :_ Especially when I got seven done and realized eight would look better on the ship and when I kept breaking the biplanes upper wing off. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Anything I could improve on next time?
