About Jim Starkweather (staff_Jim)
FROM: NEW HAMPSHIRE, UNITED STATES

I started building models in 1971 when I was 6. My first model was a 1/32 P-40 Warhawk. Revell I believe. From there I moved onto the standard cars, Apollo spacecraft, and other kid orientated kits. I don't know what got me started on Armor. I must have seen a Monogram tank kit one day and said "Mom...

I love all the opening hatches and doors! I'd like to see an after-market upgrade from someone so you could make the doors on the ISU open and close. I'd also like to see an upgrade available so you could make the small access door on the rear hatch open and close.

Unless you are going to be playing with it, why? Both parts you talk about can be built in the open or closed position. There is no need to have them movable.

Don't get me wrong - it's an amazing kit! It just has so many movable features why not make those 2 parts movable as well - that would be the icing on the cake! I've always felt that movable parts make a kit a lot more exciting! It's not like I would move them every day, but would like to have the option. By the way, it goes without saying - you have excellent abilities to capture realism in your builds!

I agree.... I don't look forward to building a brick.... I look forward to gaining the most interactive pleasure from a model. I want to pick it up in my hand; the tracks move, the turret moves, the gun moves...and all the better if the hatches work so I can re-live the experience of all that meticulious building I accomplished. ......thats why I build them And this Meng M2A3 looks fantastic!

Especially with an amazing interior like that - one of the best I've ever seen!

Just to give you an idea of how many parts there are in that box! (my photo): Giggity! Jim

Thanks for the compliments on my models. I guess it just depends on how you build. About the only thing I leave movable is the turret and maybe the rear ramp so they can be turned/closed for packing for a show or one of my common military moves. Otherwise, everything is glued in place so they don't get knocked off. I like them secure.

Is there any chance Meng would release a set of just those seat belts? I have some kits that would LOVE those.
