Federico Scassa shares with us some images of his diorama depicting a Willy’s Jeep of Reconnaissance Company No.22, 7th Armored Division, 814th Tank Destroyer Battalion, in Belgium, during January 1945.

The model used is Tamiya’s Willys Jeep in 1/35th scale. Federico utilized Eduard photo-etched set, Bronco Models, Royal Model, Armour and Voyger accessories, canvas in resin (Royal Model) and Milliput, Browning barrel from ABER. The figures are The Body, Alpine and Royal Model, with Dragon Models accessories. Obviously there are many scratch- built touches present. The diorama base is in chalk, the artificial snow is from Signifer. All painted with Humbrol enamels and Windsor & Newton oils and inks.

If you had some b&w photos of your scene, it would certainly look like those you'd find in history books. Very well done!! I especially like the trees.

Federico, your painting of the leather and fabric is impressive! What are the trees made from?

Thanks to you all for the comments. Frederick, the trees are from little birch branches of Italian mountains (Alps), very close to my house.
