On Sunday I passed the Lichtenfels train station, and was lucky enough to see there a parked train load full of equipment from 15th Engineer Battalion. Maybe some of the experts here can identify the vehicles?

I wonder whats the purpose of the one-axle trailer behind the M983 (spare parts and tools?) and the flatrack container?
APR 30, 2015 - 11:27 AM
the trailer is most likely a welders trailer, and the boxy looking flat rack MIGHT be a new Field Repair Station for mechanic.

There's a similar trailer-mounted welding shop set featured on Youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_Sl6wiowjI It's based on a M103A3 trailer chassis : H.P.

Ah. I think without even asking the question, the answer has appeared in another thread today.

AAAAHHHH yes.... how is that stuff all trucked around !!!!!!
MAY 04, 2015 - 04:31 AM
Close enough. The actual question is, "Why would he already heave photos AND measurements of all of those things?"
