introductionThe Dukw was developed during WWII to provide logistics support for Allied troops during beach landings and after, straight from transport ships. It was supremely successful and continued to be used by many nations until the 1970’s, and many can be still be found today converted to Civil use as amphibious tour vehicles. A modern injected styrene model of the Dukw was on many people’s wish list for a long time, and Italeri answered the call. Not long afterwards they issued this, the 1/72 scale Dukw.
in additionI was fortunate to receive the Goffy resin cargo set from Pawel Krupowicz (Vodnik) and I also intended to use the Photo-etched set from ExtraTech, and a new set of resin wheels from Pavla Models. As shown in the photographs the Goffy set included a full tarp for the cargo area, and assorted cargo items immaculately moulded on several resin pour blocks. More on these later!
