Road to Tarnopol march 1944

As I said Aleksandr Butin is a new member of Armorama. His work is stunning in my opinion and I defy anyone to pick fault with this fantastic example of the hobby. During March and April 1944 Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 507, consisting of Panzerkampfgruppe "Friebe" tried to break the siege of Fester Platz Tarnopol. Aleksandr has kindly provided some details on this diorama; the Tiger 1 used is a Cyber Hobby offering in 1/35th scale with Voyager photo etch and MasterClub tracks. The figures used are examples from MasterBox, MiniArt and Dragon Models with the addition of Hornet heads and the Zundapp is the Great Wall Hobby offering and looks a great addition. The ammunition is from Tamiya, oil drums by Panzer Art, styrene plastic from Evergreen and painted with various companies products including Tamiya and Vallejo paints.

The detail and effort put into this work by Aleksandr has resulted in possibly the best diorama I have ever seen. The dog is a item I find particularly stunning, it is by far the most lifelike fury animal I have seen.

I think the scariest part of the diorama are the two field policemen. They exert a menacing glance over the column of soldats...

No job, no wife or g/f, no life, rarely/barely eats...probably hasn't seen the bottom of a beer bottle or wine glass in months, has people shop for him, dropped every bit of savings in this diorama...other than that...damn fine outstanding work!!!
