English Falcon Cannon

  • move
Introduction
This English Falcon Cannon sits at the Cheyenne Air Force Base. It was captured at the same time as the Bells of Balangiga, following the Balangiga massacre in 1901. The flag pole sits between the bells and the cannon in what is called Trophy Park. The flag pole is believed to be from the USS Wyoming.

I got a kick out of the "Do Not Cut or Trim sign next to the cannon display. Need to save that Wyoming grass I guess.

I am glad that I stopped and took pictures of this cannon and the bells when I did. I had been going to stop and look at the Bells of Balangiga for years and never did. At a spur of the moment decision while driving by one day I decided to stop and look at them and get some pictures of them. I am glad that I did as they were returned to the Philippines the next year. If I hadn't stopped that day I would have never seen them.
