Totenkopf Tiger I

  • move
Dan presents his Dragon Tiger I, Late model. The tank is from the 3rd SS Totenkopf Division fighting on the Vistula River in front of Warsaw, August 1944. Dan added metal tracks, a commander figure from an Alpine set, and the other figures are from a Dragon set for late war SS. The kit was painted with Tamiya acrylics and Vallejo colours were used for the figures.

Very nice job! I think the subdued colors of the overall paint job looks really good. Seems like the Tiger almost blends into the street.

Nicely done! What did you use for the bent-up side fender? I really like the low-key camo you chose as it looks dusty & tired. Great choice on the figures too.

Easily done. You have to cut the individual fenders and use a lighter to soften the plastic and bend it with a pair of tweezers.

Hi Dan - Agreed - I also really like subdued paint job and subtle weathering, Good job. Jerry

I've had some luck using lead foil instead of melting the plastic as you described. Have you tried that way as well? It's also great for the distorted exhaust shields as it dents and even tears realistically.
