MasterBox have very kindly sent us news of their latest work in progress, and it’s a BIG surprise offering. Unlike most of the offerings from MasterBox this is not a figure set or an armoured fighting vehicle, so take a look inside to see this exciting offering.
MasterBox has finally announced that a 1/35th scale Horsa MK 1 Troop-carrying glider (MB 35114). This will be one large kit that providing you have the room for it will be a real eye catcher. Fully detailed cockpit and interior will make this a must have to display with all of those World War Two Red Devils. Our thanks to MasterBox for letting us know about this work in progress.

I notice Masterbox have now removed all reference to the C-47 and Ju-52, does that then mean those are now dead ?

I sure as heck hope not not, I'd really like to see both of those come to fruition. In regards to this project, I hope that they truly are planning both the Mk I and II. This is all good stuff, and they do have a reputation for making good kits so it would make sense that the CAD images are a bit of a mixup resulting from researching both the I and II.

Maybe they should hedge their bets and release one to test the waters ... how many gliders of this size will modellers buy. On the other hand, it does have the advantage of appealing to both armor and aircraft builders, not to mention diorama builders. Hopefully they follow up with a set of fully laden troopers. I picture a multi pose set, that different poses are possible so a few sets can be purchased to show it being loaded up.

This is good news indeed. Some companies respond well to comments, while others continue to say "these are just test shots" only to do nothing to correct the kit. These are fine times we're living in, where a company can show in progress images and instantly elicit input that will make the kit the best it can possibly be.

On the other hand if they just got as far as CAD renderings, it's easy to correct on the computer. With actual =physical= test shots, you would have to change/modify the molds, a much more expensive proposition. Cheers, Christophe
