Makes lots of room on your modelling desk, there is a real big Tiger coming from Hobby Boss.
New announcements from Hobby Boss include a large scale Tiger. Yes, a Tiger, but in 1/16 scale, which will make it a real big Tiger. Also announced is Russian T-26 tank, in 1/35 scale. So take your pick, big or small.

82601 – German Sd.Kfz.181 “Tiger” – 1/16 scale
82496 – Soviet T-26 Light Infantry Tank Mod. 1935

No official date, but listed as the December 2012 announcement.

With or without interior, I want one.

I've yet to see reviews. Here's the box contents, from the Hobby Search site: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10208803 I don't see any interior parts. It has individual track links, and with pins showed in the pic, I would guess it would be workable (?). The Hobby Boss site states "... kit is a simplified version consists of over 460 parts". Is it just the translation or are they saying there's a more detailed version in the works? The kit appeals to me -- it's static, and I'm not much into interiors anyways. I am sure there will be inaccuracies that may be corrected to a degree one may wish to. Having a low part count, a very good price-point for the scale (US$80 at Hobby Easy) -- why not? As long as it's not a nightmare build -- i.e. warped tubs, gaps that need a whole tube of putty, I'd go for this. Cheers, Tat

I'd love to get one. It'd go great with my two 1/16 T-34's (76/85). Wish a static 1/16 IS2 would show up. They'd make great door "gate guards".

Agreed, a 1:16 JS-2 (or SSU-152!), would be awesome. I'd buy either one in a heartbeat.

I recall reading that this is a static version of an RC tank, Heng Long perhaps. That would explain the "simplified version" description.

Tempting...would a tweak list to improve on the exterior be already available? Cheers, Tat

Just been looking at one if these in my LHS. Looks to be a Mid to late model, little internal detail but with individual tracks connected with track pins. Will look good built and painted. For 70 GBP I may be tempted..
