Meng Model has announced news of an Israeli armoured personnel carrier in 1/35th scale, the Achzarit is listed as an early version.
Here is what Meng Model have to say about this product;

The Achzarit heavy Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), which has the same protection as a main battle tank, is a unique IDF solution for maintaining soldiers’ fighting capability in urban combats. The Achzarit is based on the captured Soviet-built T-55 tank. Its turret was removed and the chassis modified for troop carriage by adding a troop compartment. Armour protection was strengthened. A weapons station against light armoured targets and soft targets was installed on the top of the vehicle. A more powerful engine was also installed for better maneuverability. Since 1980s, the Achzarit has always been deployed to the most dangerous zones. Its excellent performance in the battles makes it a reliable “warhorse” for the Israeli soldiers.

This 1/35 scale SS-003 Israel Heavy Armoured Personnel Carrier Achzarit Early kit consists of 242 parts on 10 sprues, 1 PE fret and 2 TPE tracks. It provides decals and paint schemes for three units. As previous MENG’s Israeli model kits, this kit is also supported by Desert Eagle Publishing’s most authoritative reference material. MENG’s team not only focus on accuracy and details of the model, but also optimize the building process. Hope you will enjoy it.

Hi Everyone; I Don't think well see too much more in the way of the T-55, the Tamiya Base kit gave you enough versions for most Mks; ! And what else is there really, now we have the Enigma, a Israeli Mk; and Mengs Achzarit ! Is the BTRT Popular enough too warrant a kit. I think well see the T-54, T-44, and the T-10s in the Future, at least I Hope So. And what else is there in the way of another Paper panzer, were the Obj;279s a Block Buster ? Did the AT-1 that's based on the T-62 Break Sales records. The Achzarit looks like its going too be a real nice kit, but will it Draw much Fanfare away from the T-72s, I don't think so. If we really have an Input with the Manufactures then the most Whishes that were conveying is the T-44,54, and the T-10. But whats on the Drawing Boards is Fun too Think About HAPPY MODELING; MIKE.

Yep, had mine on pre-order at Hobbyeasy since it was announced. The order status has changed to "ready to ship", which is great news. I've ordered both new titles on the Achzarit (so I can compare), and have leave coming up after a series of night shifts... Christmas came early this year! But it does mean that my Legend's kit is now a distance second, "also ran" kit in the stash. Kylie
