For World War 1 fans, Master Box has a new set of figures on the way covering British infantry at the Somme.
Master Box has two new figure sets on the way. The first is a five figure set of British World War 1 infantry around the time of the Battle of Somme. The set shows off the disarray of the regular soldier compared to the one officer figure. These should be great figures for a diorama with one of the newer World War 1 tanks out there. Also announced is a German infantryman with a bicycle. This would be a great figure for a vignette or combined on a bigger diorama. The kit does include photo-etched for the bicycle.

35146 – British Infantry, Somme Battle Period, 1916
35171 – German Soldier-Bicyclist, 1939-1942

According to Dragon Models USA these new sets should be available in January 2015.

The box art is depicting No.4MkI. rifles used only from 1943, but the pictures of the assembled figures on MB page do fortunatelly show the correct SMLE rifles. Its strange that producers will pay attention to details of what if tanks, but can not portrait correctly a rifle thats been produced and fielded in milions.

"Let's go, chaps" vs. "Is he ****ing balmy?"

I've had a look at their sprue shots and the do appear to be Mk III's in the kit. Sadly the Lewis drum has no detail underneath which is a shame as it wouldn't have been too difficult for them to mould some detail on it. I'll probably replace it with a Resicast one when I get them. I'll probably pick up a couple of boxes as I quite fancy doing a trench dio after seeing Al McNeillys two superb WW1 dios. It's a shame they're not all in puttees but I suppose the two really scruffy blokes do add a bit more realism to mid war/late war "making do" in water filled trenches.

Thanks for the compliment Karl. These should prove useful for the future. Still awaiting the new ICM release too. Al

Hi, All! This is GREAT NEWS, indeed! Does anyone out there know if there are any 1/35 World War I US Doughboys and/or US Marines in kit form or cast figures out there? Thanks, Much- Dennis
