Meng Models continues to update their Chieftain progress with nine new images to grab your attention.
In addition to the infrared searchlight, the Chieftain has a laser rangefinder integrated in the gunner’s sight. The laser rangefinder was quite advanced at that time. To the left of the laser range finding sight, there’s a muzzle reference system used for better accuracy of firing. MENG uses the combination of clear parts and normal plastic parts to accurately replicate these two devices. What’s more, the gunner’s laser sight can be modelled open or closed.

There are several hatches on the rear of the turret, which is not common on contemporary main battle tanks. MENG provides separate parts like the metadyne compartment cover and radio battery compartment cover so that modellers can add interiors.

The second-generation main battle tanks didn’t use the integral power pack which is common on modern tanks. Like other mainstream tanks at that time, the Chieftain’s engine and transmission are arranged separately. There are numerous details on the engine and transmission compartment covers. All covers on the rear of the chassis can be modelled open or closed. MENG also provide easy-to-build PE parts for best replicate.

What’s more, the MENG Chieftain Mk.10 has features like workable tracks, main gun travel lock with different options, accurately reproduced chassis welding and vinyl cables of smoke grenade launchers. There are more interesting features waiting for you to explore. What you get is a 1/35 model and what you enjoy is 1/1 fun.

The kit looks so good, I may want one just because it looks so promising. Their Bradleys are among the best kits I've ever built.
