Takom is producing large quantities of armoured models of late, and continues to feed demand for up to date offerings. The four latest releases takes care of the AMX 13 legion of fans with two alternate track sets for that line of models and then there are two new tanks in the offing.
Takom has announced a Type 69-II and a T54 B. Details on these models is a little scant at the moment but the artwork has a beauty all of its own. The AMX 13 line of models from Takom has been offered track sets both with and without rubber track pads. Interestingly these have been labelled as suitable for the Tamiya and Heller offerings.

Hi; Well despite what Some people may say ! I will purchase the 69II. I dont take into account Country of origin or political Mum Bo Jumbo in my choice of A Good Model !!! Some People Build for what ever reason they prefer, I build from A Collectors Stand-point, in my collection I have Vehicles from just about every Country from A-Z, both WWII, To the present ! IMHO If You Don't like It, then Move onto something else. Again I Say; THANKS TAKOM. MIKE.

Who said anything about politics? I'm just not interested in this model. Is that still allowed? The title of this thread is a question. I answered. It was was my intention to move on, but Hartman asked a follow-up question. KL

2002 release now makes a kit "ancient"?
Really. I'm surprised our modern adhesives still work on kits of such vintage. Didn't they use bakelite or gutta percha to make kits back then? KL

Gents: Kurt's answer did not cause any offence and he correctly points out that I titled the thread as a question, which he answered.

Sigh. I can only imagine the offline messaging that led to the above. Guys, "I'm not interested in that subject" is not code for "I hate that tank, the company making it should be burned to the ground, and anyone who wants it should be killed". It just means I'm not interested in that subject. At least I didn't immediately jump in and say they should be producing something else instead. Now THAT'S something worth complaining about. KL

Dude, I wondered what it would take to get you out in public again......

It's funny -for me at least, other people may find it annoying- how almost every single post leds to some kind of arguing, usually about nothing specific... Mr. Kurt just said he will not get this kit, while I'll surely get three. So? It's just a matter of preferentes. And I have to be with Kurt on this -which doesn't usually happen- : at least he did not post anything like "they should have done a "..." instead'.

2002 release now makes a kit "ancient"?
Its a tongue in cheek comment I think...check out the smile at the end... Its bad enough modellers can have bad social skills at times, but seems like the internet amplifies it! LOL If its not, the Tamiya kit is a great kit base whatever T-54/T-54 you would like to build, if don't mind working with minor scratchbuilding or using resin conversions.
