Modelltrans Modellbau continues to release sets on German half-track vehicles, and its latest kit provides a conversion to build one that mounts a long range infrared searchlight.
Late in the Second World War, the Sd.Kfz.251/20 Ausf.D UHU operated together with the Pz.Kpfw. V Panthers during night attacks at the Western Front. It consists of a 60cm Beobachtungstelescope (telescopic sight) 1221 and a Beobachtungsgerat (viewing machine) 1251. Around 60 UHU were built, with some deployed to Hungary in 1945.

Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf.D "UHU" (MT72459) is a 1/72 resin conversion set designed for use with a Hasegawa kit. A Dragon kit may also be used but may require additional work to fit.
