Hasegawa has now released it's 1/48th scale Jeep, as a follow up to it's "Follow Me" jeep kit.

X48-12 Willys Jeep MB
The kit includes a detailed chassis and engine plus an optional machinegun.
Also included are two figures: a driver and passenger in officer's uniform.

Decals are included for three for 3 vehicles:

Sure to be popular with all modelers in 1/48 scale including the aircraft guys.
I would imagine the usual assortment of After Market stuff will soon follow.

Great Models now has 4 Hauler photo etched sets for it listed. One as a pre-order, the others as Special orders. I'm surprised that Tamyia let Hasagawa sneak this one in before they did one. A shame as if they paragraphed they 1/35 Jeep down it would be a sure winner.

Pat, is this the same chassis and body as the "Follow-Me" jeep? Regards, joe.

Tamiya have just released one, at least in Japan, but not on its own. It is part of a figure set "U.S. Infantry at Rest". They don't even refer to the jeep by name, merely as a "light utility vehicle" http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10058927 or for better pictures, http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM32552 From the breakdown of the parts shown in the first link, it's obvious this one is not a direct pantograph copy of the 1/35 kit ( at least not their newest one). Yes. All they've done is to remove the radio, add new figures and a m/g mount plus new decals.
