Frituur Zorro was a series of books that focused on moth-balled WWII-era Allied and German vehicles that have been converted for civilian use as seen in Belgium, Northern France, the Netherlands, as well as the then Eastern-bloc countries.
Previously published in four volumes and mostly out of print, Frituur Zorro is again available as a single, special edition combining the best of all the volumes published.

From Narwal Publishers comes The Very Best of Frituur Zorro, A Second Life for Army Trucks. This special edition contains 288 pages selected from the all previous volumes:

  • Volume 1: Allied Vehicles
  • Volume 2: German, French, Russian, Czech and Italian Vehicles
  • Volume 3: Allied vehicles, French, Czech and German Vehicles
  • Volume 4: Mainly Allied Vehicles, but also French, Czech and Post-war Vehicles

What a great idea for a book! Brings to mind my father telling me that after the war he saw a German farmer blowing his field with a 251 half track chassis that had had all of the upper armour plate removed. It probably served as a tractor for a number of years until something better came along.

that was supposed to read "plowing" his field but evil auto correct "fixed" that one but good. Though considering the number of mines in some fields at that time period "blowing up" his field might have been accurate.
