Pascal Zandt and the folks at Interpro Travel Service are once again doing a military history enthusiast and modeler tailored tour of Europe. Their first "Tanks A Lot Tour" was in 2017 and was reportedly a great success. The new tour will happen in May of 2019 so if you are interested in traveling around to all the places most loved by historians and modelers this is your chance!

Whether this is your first time to Europe or not, this trip is a trip that you will never forget. It is the only tour of its kind and is geared towards the military history enthusiast and modeler. Though the focus of the tour will be on tanks, hence the name, it will include much more. We’ll start off in Warsaw, Poland for two full days of museum visits of military and cultural significance. Traveling West we stop in Poznan for two more armor collections. The following day we will have the opportunity to experience tanks in the best way - by driving them. Afterwards we’ll travel to Berlin for two nights.

In Berlin we’ll take in the legends of the Luftwaffe at the Luftwaffe Museum and spend a free day. We will then travel South, stopping in Dresden for lunch before continuing on to the production facility of Eduard in the Czech Republic. After some shopping, we’ll continue to the capital Prague. The following day is intended to be a free day, with only the Prague Castle on the agenda. We then head towards Germany once again, but not before stopping at the Pilsner Urguell Brewery for a tour, the one that gave “Pilsner Beer” its name.

In Munich, this will be our base to visit non-military sights such as the BMW Plant & Museum, and the Castle of Neuschwanstein. As we leave Munich and head to Switzerland, we’ll stop in Friedrichshaven on the shores of the Lake Constance. In addiiton to the Zeppelin museum, those who opt to can take a ride in a Zepplin. Our day will end in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, near the Rheinfall.

In Switzerland, we’ll visit the two well known tank museums of Full and Thun. The museum of Full is currently restoring a King Tiger tank. From there we go to Obernai outside Strasbourg before visiting the MM Park Museum. We’ll then head back into Germany to visit the Museum at Sinnsheim before stopping in Frankfurt for the night. The next day will take us to Koblenz, followed by a visit to the Clervaux Castle, before going to our hotel in the Ardennes, where we will spend two days visiting the sites of the famous Battle of the Bulge, fought here in WWII. Next we travel North to another battlefield from WWI at Ypres, Belgium. Then we take a turn West to the launch site of the V2 rockets at La Coupole, before heading to Brussels.

In Brussels we will have a free day, though the Royal Military Museum is recommended. And finally, our trip will take us back in time to the 19th century to the battlefield of Waterloo. The last day, we will bring you to the airport for your return flight. So, fasten your safety belts, put your goggles on, and climb aboard the Tanks Again Tour. It’ll be a blast!

Wow! What a great tour itinerary! I've already been to half the places listed but a second view would be great. Sinsheim/Koblenz/Munster have my whole-hearted endorsement. The rest are interesting to take in.

11 of us are ready to go, but we have room for a few more. We have added the Bastogne Barracks to the itinerary. So if you have been thinking of joining us, now is the time to take action.

My wife and I were members of Tank tour #1. Well thought out agenda and a great time rubbing elbows with fellow tankies. Cannot say enough good things about our first experience and looking forward to #2.
