It's now, (at least where i'm writing this) monday the 31st of January. So, following the request made by Masterbox Ltd i've embargoed this story until now. It frankly hasn't been easy as I hope the photos will show.
For a while now, Masterbox have been quietly working on:

35100 - "German military car, Typ 170 V, Tourenwagen, 4 T (1937-40)

As a special favor to Armorama, they've chosen to send us the first images of the FIRST moulding of this new kit. Now, the vehicle itself is not one that I personally have a lot of knowledge of. I have built several of the company's vehicles and only going by the images, of THIS model, they seem to have made a significant leap in the 'finesse' of their moulding.

Research for the model. was naturally enough, carried out on a preserved example and the design team decided to follow the vehicle's construction as closely as possible to build the model (or disassemble it!) close to the original. It seems obvious but frequently models are built with ease of moulding in mind - the company has taken this slightly different (but hopefully significant) approach.

Nothing else to add except enjoy the images and to express my gratitude ro Masterbox for the faith they continue to hold in Armorama!

WOW! Wonderful news! Masterbox has done it again! This kit is at my top wish list! As a WWII dio builder, this kit is definitively a must have for my stash! And it seems pretty well moulded with lots of detail, so I guess you could turn it into a great building, and it is affordable to build a vignette / diorama like this: Cheers, Pablo

Excellent model choice from Masterbox. I will fit in very well with any diorama or just on its own. I am sure plenty of figure sets will be released for it as well. Thanks for sharing

By coincidence, a local Wedding rental company has a 1948 Mercedes Saloon which is identical to the Pre-War Saloon. When the production lines were opened up Post-War, the blueprints were used...

So it looks like ICM is releasing the same kit under their label. Guess it comes down to whichever one is cheaper!

looks like a nice kit, maybe painted black with civvy license plates as a German intelligence vehicle!

Are you saying that because of the picture posted on Prime Portal's site under ICM, because I think the pictures are a little mixed up and that should go under Masterbox. Look at one image, it has a "new" label close to it in the corner of the picture. That style of text is different to "new" posted on labels at ICM's stand but is the same as the "new" label seen against other items on the Masterbox stand. That's how I see it anyway. Alan
