Introduction

Legend Productions from South Korea has recently released a new resin accessory set, M8 Greyhound Stowage Set #LF1275. The American Army was notorious for the profusion of bags, tarps, rolls, and other pieces of equipment that graced their vehicles in the long run from Normandy to Berlin. Legend Productions release should make every prospective Jed Clampett smile!

Contents

55 resin castings of various sizes all packed in a poly bag inside a standard sized Legend box, including:
  • 5 large complex castings of pieces that fit unto the glacis plate, the turret, or the rear of the vehicle
  • 19 pieces of various items such as bags, tarps, and packs that could be easily used on any US WWII vehicle
  • 1 racked double set of jerry cans that could also be used on many, many US vehicles
  • 30 other pieces that range from helmets to small arms, buckets, oil cans, wire spools and other assorted bits and bobs

Review

First of the castings are impressive in both the sheer number as well as the quality. Easily, you could doll up 2 Greyhounds, perhaps even three, after which I am sure you would still have several nice pieces left over. The castings are all of impeccable quality; I couldn’t find an imperfection anywhere. Each of the straps, buckles, ropes, flaps, closures, tabs, buttons, etc are of the highest workmanship.

The five large pieces are all cast to fit snugly to a Greyhound, the largest provides extra sandbag armor and is for the glacis plate and even has a couple of bullet holes cast into the resin. This piece has the siren already cast in place and has another of the five pieces that fits just on top that sandwiches the lights and light guards between. Two of the large pieces are various tarps and bags for the turret and the last one with more tarps and bags, plus a partially opened ammo can, fits on to the rear deck. Each of these pieces is, of course, fitted to the M-8 and would not work on any other vehicle unlike the remainder of the gear.

The remaining pieces would look good as extra stowage or kit on any US WWII vehicle, extra bags, helmets, walkie talkie, a spool of common wire, the list goes on and on. Take a look at the pictures off to the side to get a better idea of what you get. Needless to say, all of these extra pieces show the same level of workmanship and care as the larger pieces.

Conclusion

Highly recommended. Just go get one, you will be happy you did. Even if you only use half of what is in the box you will feel like you got a bargain. Besides, think how happy Jed, Granny, Jethro and the rest of the clan will be when they see you bumping down the road!

SUMMARY
Highs: Exquisite casting quality. Loads of pieces that could easily be used on multiple Greyhounds. Many generic pieces that would be found on virtually every American vehicle.
Lows: None noted.
Verdict: Highly recommended.

About Rick Cooper (clovis899)
FROM: CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES

I have been modeling for about 30 years now. Once upon a time in another century I owned my own hobby shop; way more work than it was worth. I tip my opti-visor to those who make a real living at it. Mainly build armor these days but I keep working at figures, planes and the occasional ship.

Most of it could be used for the M20 as well.
