introduction

BRAVO-6 has already some figure kits for Vietnam War U.S. soldiers at rest with relaxing poses and added another one to the series. This kit is a conversion from B6-35067-Too Darn Hot. Vladimir changed heads and arms of two figures of Tank Crew and made them U.S. G.I.s at a beer party.
B6-35072 Lookin’ Better Every Beer includes two G.I’s on sitting poses with beer cans. They can be displayed sitting on a vehicle, sandbags, etc.

packing &casting

Figure parts come well packed in standard light brown cardboard box labeled with a photo of painted figures. Two body parts and other small parts are split into three transparent bags. Resin quality is good and no need for a serious cleanwork. Just a seamline to carve on the left boot of Figure-A. Note that casting blocks were on the backs of figures and removed for the review.

figures

Kit includes two 1/35 scale gray resin figures. . Each figure comes in 3 pieces ; body with head and two seperate arms.

  • Both figures wear Tropical combat uniform trousers with trotters inside boots and leather/canvas combined Jungle boots. Figure-A is sculpted in bare chest and his arms are posed to put on thighs with hands between his legs. Boxart shows a cigarette on the right hand which can be easily done with a stretched plastic. Figure-B wear OD T-shirt. His arms are on his thighs with a beer can on right hand and a cigarette on the other side. Muscular details on chest and arms, cloth folds on trousers and shirt are well represented.

  • Figure-A is sculpted with a moustache and Figure-B has a different hairstyle- Pompadour, probably inspired by Elvis.

  • A Boonie hat is given as a seperate part to display next to the figures.

  • 3 beer cans are supplied in the kit. Besides Budweiser on the boxart, they can be painted as Falstaff or Hamm’s too.

    conclusion

A nice complemantary set for at rest scenes. It can make a good scene when used together with Delta Blues.
  • SUMMARY
Highs: Useful figures for Vietnam dioramas. They can be used in many scenes.Sculpting and casting is very good as always.
Lows: No lows but I think decals for beer can labels would make many modelers happy :)
Verdict: Great pair for at rest Vietnam scenes.

I really like this offering. Those dudes look totally wasted. Great sculpting by the folks at Bravo 6 ! Nice touch, the beer cans opened with a "Church Key". Thanks Engin for letting us know about this release.
