In The Box

Having never worked with Plus Models products before, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with this set. The quality of the packaging speaks well from the get go, being packaged in a rugged box that is perfectly sized for the parts within. These parts are further protected by an outer layer of bubble wrap while remaining safely collected within a small sealed bag.

Inside of this bag you will find four pieces of some of the nicest gray resin I’ve seen. You will get two center blocks and two end blocks cast in fine crisp detail without a single imperfection in sight. There are no air bubbles, no warping, and no flash at all on these blocks. Heck, if you really wanted to, you could just carve a hole into your diorama/vignette base and drop the casting plugs in and you’d be good to go!

Review

Thankfully Plus Model chose to make the casting plugs smaller than the base of the blocks. Whether this was intended by design or just dumb luck I’m grateful, and you will be too. The base of the block acts as a perfect guide for a miter saw/razor saw. Just lay the blade flat against this surface and you’ll have that plug off in a matter of seconds and the blocks will be ready for painting. Unfortunately I have a rather flimsy blade on mine which meant I had to use a large iron file to finish the job. There are some minor blemishes inside of the forklift slots, but you can’t even see them when you set the blocks on a flat surface.

Conclusion

If these concrete blocks were provided sans pour plugs and with a set of decals they would be as close to perfect as you could get. Hopefully these excellent castings are a sign of where things are going with diorama accessories. I highly recommend these to any fans of modern armor, they will make a great addition to your build even if you just let them float around the builds in your display cabinet.
SUMMARY
Highs: Crisp clean casting requiring only minimal cleanup, very easy to use.
Lows: Lack of possible painting options or decals.
Verdict: Recommended to fans of modern armor.
