introduction

E.T. Model provides an easy replacement to the rubber tires that come in the Trumpeter LAV A2 kit. This set includes 8 full tires.

The tires are cast in a blemish free, cream colored resin and have very good surface details. There are also very small pour blocks which makes clean-up a snap. They are packaged very well in a sturdy blister pack and wrapped in bubble wrap. My sample was damage free and packaged well.

The tires appear to be slightly narrower than the kit tires and scale out perfectly to the actual tire size. A closer look at the tires show that they are not direct copies of the kit rubber tires though. The tread pattern has finer details and looks better. They also feature the Michelin X markings on the sidewalls.

The tires are also cast with the wheel hub and brake details on them, making assembly and installation a snap. The hubs seem to be direct copies of the kit parts with the details looking very good as well.

The only down side to the set is the spare tire. Unfortunately, ET Model does not include one. You must still use the kit rubber tire for the spare.

SUMMARY
Highs: Nicely molded and with very small pour stubs to clean up. A quick replacement for the kit's rubber tires.
Lows: The spare tire is not included.
Verdict: A very good replacement tire set. The issue with the spare can be easily overcome. If you are looking for an easy to use replacement tire set, this set is the one.

Thank you for the review Gino. Can you compare these to Legends set? I used Legends on my last one and felt the detail was too pronounced (needed sanding), and I had problems getting even spacing between the tires. Though I suspect that was a build error on my part. I will definitely look into trying E.T.'s when I get around to the next one in line.

Thanks for posting this quickly James. Lucas - Sorry, I don't have the Legend wheels to compare them to.
