introduction

It's all about the finish they say, especially when it comes to modelling. We all try to build and paint a model to our wishes. An important aspect is the finish of the lenses, if these are properly done they can add that extra bit of realism.

SKP model released in may 2012 a set of lenses designed for the massive Hobby Boss M 1070 kit. With this set you can replace the kit lenses. So what do you get?

the set

The set is packed in a small zip bag. The lenses are made of photo etch with a layer of clear resin. The parts with the red circle appear off centre - however - I do not have good references on these parts so I cannot check if this is correct or not. I can neither check the fitting of the lenses, but I assume there won't be any problems as the kit lenses are (probably?) used during the development of this set. So additional information is very welcome.

The lenses look very good. The texture of the photoetch parts really pops out and the clear resin is very smooth and nicely spread on the etched parts.

conclusion

When you purchase an expensive kit like the M 1070, just add this little set too. The lenses look really good and you won't get it any better than this.
SUMMARY
Highs: This set adds that little bit of extra realism when it comes to the overall finish of the massive M1070 model.
Lows: Very delicate parts - so handle with care!
Verdict: Highly recommended, you won't find any lenses better than this set.
