the booklet

The Bailey Bridge was a great invention that allowed the Allies to cross many obstacles that stood in their way to victory. Service Publications has release another book in their Weapons of War Series, The Bailey Bridge in Canadian Service.

The 24 page booklet is another great addition to the Weapons of War series. For its small size, it packs a lot of information. The booklet is very well written, and includes great accompanying images.

The booklet describes how the bridge was developed and the many uses of the Bailey Bridge. There is also a good description of some of the logistics that went in to ensure the parts were available where needed. A two-page drawing of a typical Bailey Bridge is included.

The booklet does a great job describing the obstacles and efforts of the Canadian Engineers Corps use of the bridge. It describes several uses, and how the bridge was built. It is very informative in describing the effort and courage of the engineers, who at times constructed these bridges under fire.

conclusion

I must say I am really enjoying the Weapons of War Series from Service Publications, and The Bailey Bridge in Canadian Service is another great addition to this series. For small booklets, they back a lot of information. I highly recommend this booklet.

I would like to thank Clive Law at Service Publications for provide the review copy.
