introduction

Monster-Model starts off with a nice little addition to update Meng's crew cab pickup model to become a Toyota.

the kit

Monster-Model out of Russia has started with a nice little piece as their first AM part. It is a crisply-moulded replacement grille for Meng's 1/35 crew cab pickup kit. The new grilel is cast in white resin and has the addition of the stylized Toyota "T" emblem on it. This will allow you to make your truck as a Toyota. It also has the headlight and turn signal cavities hollowed out for better definition. The headlight cavities also have little bulbs in them, a nice touch to complete the headlight details. The new grille fits onto the Meng pickup with no issues as well, sliding right in to replace the kit part.

By using this new grille and the letter decals in the kit, you can easily make it into the late '90s Toyota Hilux that it is.
SUMMARY
Highs: A great, easy upgrade for the Meng pickup.
Lows: None noted.
Verdict: A nice, introductory piece from Monster-Model. It adds the litte extra detail that was missing from the kit part. A winner for Monster-Model. Keep the great update sets coming.

I don't know if they have any US ditributors yet. The shipping from Russia was cheap though, I think it was less than $2.

I didn't buy it from any site. The seller/owner of the company is a member here and sent it to me for review. Hopefully he will see this post and respond, I sent him the link. I will also send him a message for more info on how to get it.

I dropped Denis an email last week about the grills after seeing your posting on ML about them. He said he was swamped with orders and I should hear something back in a week or two to pay him. Its been just over a week today, so I'll see what happens.
