introduction

The five gallon steel jerrycan is one of the most popular items of military equipment ever made. Even in the 2000s, more than 60 years after it was introduced into warfare, it is still inuse in many armies at the same design. There are many 1/35 scale plastic or resin jerrycan kits, but refuelling U.S. soldiers always been a serious need on market especially for the Vietnam era. BRAVO-6’s second kit of US GI’s series B6-35060 U.S. G.I.s "Jerrycans" seems to fill this gap. It includes two U.S. soldiers depicting one carrying a jerrycan and another refuelling.
packing & casting

Kit content comes well packed in plastic zip-lock bags in standard light brown cardboard box labeled with a photo of the assembled and painted figures. Bodies are seperately inserted in transparent bags, arms and jerrycans are gathered in another one.
Figures are sculpted by Vladimir Demchenko and come in medium grey resin. Parts can be easily removed from casting blocks and a very short cleanwork will be needed because casting is really good. No air bubbles, no casting mistakes or no excess resin just a small seamline inside the right boot.
figures

FIGURE #1
Figure comes in 3 parts with a full body and two arms. Facial details and short hair are well defined. He wears 3rd pattern tropical jungle jacket unbuttoned and showing his bare chest. Cloth folds, pocket details and buttons are well defined. A dogtag is sculpted on his neck. He has 3rd pattern jungle trousers with side pockets and leather-canvas combined jungle bootswith half tied laces to comfort ankles.
Arms with upfolded sleeves are posed to refuel. Left hand is sculpted in a pose to hold the handle and right hand lift the bottom of jerrycan.
FIGURE#2
Figure comes in 4 parts with a body, head and 2 arms. . He wears OD T-shirt and jungle trousers with trotters inserted inside jungle boots. Cloth folds are well defined and right cargo pocket is carved to fit the carried jerrycan. Facial details and high and tight haircut are well defined.
Arms are represented with short sleeves of t-shirt and right arm is posed to carry a jerrycan. Note that a small surgery will be needed to fit right hand to the handle.
JERRY CANS
Jerrycans are cast in one piece;one with open lid for the first figure and the other closed for the second. X-shaped indentations,G and US markings are well defined. 4-lug screw lid and 3-row handles are given as seperate parts. With its rectangular shape, jerrycans can be stacked in large, orderly piles or into trucks, with little wasted space. 3-handles made it easy to move by hand, pass from one man to the next, in bucket brigade style or for two men to carry one between them.

A water slide decal sheet with different ranks, insignia and nametags is given inside the kit.
conclusion

A nice kit that will widely fill the gap on refuelling US soldiers. They can be used for all periods after Vietnam War by making minor changes on uniform details and painting them in different patterns. Suitable to display with many vehicles. Sculpting and casting are good as always.

Highly Recommended
