Back in the 90's when they were first released, I picked up this set and the two German/Axis weapons sets.
While not up to Gen2 standards, the molding is better than the old Tamiya sets,
As Darren mentions, there are some very delicate gun barrels being the main drawback.
You must use extreme caution on the Johnson MG when you remove it from the sprue or you'll break it.

As John said they are very good for the time they were released, the pictures I have provided should tell you everything else. Please note that some of the weapons as stated do appear a little soft on detail, while others are very good with some very finely moulded parts. Something else I should have added is that there are weapons there that I have not seen before in injection moulded plastic.

It IS a very useful set although, it should be REWORKED by DML to reflect the advances they've made in their Gen II sets..

They are a good investment and come up as rereleases every few years on HLJ and HobbySearch websites but they don't last very long online

Jim I could not agree with you more on this and provided the price is kept reasonable (as this set was/is) would be a very very good seller I Believe. I also believe that if a company took the time to sell packaged sets of time period specific small arms they would also sell well.

Why I never picked up this set before, still kicking myself in the butt. Another cool idea is that each weapon is seperate and titled so no mistakes are made. Jim, the reising could be used by a marine throwing it back in the ocean or trying to crack open a coconut.

Quite a few people PMed me requesting information on where they could get this item, I spoke to Halifax Modellers World today and this item is in stock for Ģ6. The website lists the item as out of stock however the owner says that is not the case and it will be corrected.

The chances of me buying this particular kit is almost nil though. Canīt understand why they are releasing a kit almost 20 years old, when they have the Gen II sets available. That I would buy in heartbeat ... even a few of them.

Nice set sadly missing the smle no 3 rifle, seems a bit strange to add something as diverse as two Johnsons and leave out the enfield !

Phil I understand that and agree but an oddity sometimes catches the idle eye. I do think there is room and a need for country and time specific weapon sets such as;
British modern say 1970 to current day
British WW2
American WW2
American Vietnam
American current
Russian WW2
Russian modern
and so on.

Yep I agree Darren, I've got the DML Vietnam and M16 sets,and also trumps M4 set in my stash,just find it strange that the smle no 3 the personal weapon for WW1 the first years of WW2 isn't very prolific in plastic.
