My pleasure. As I said in the review it is a very unique to see a conversion come out this fast after a tank becomes operational.

Standby for my review of the Leopard 2A7+ conversion....the Remote Weapon System is Tres Cool!

Jabo, how long did it take you to clean out all the flash in between the slats?

I'm thinking it might be quicker to build new armour out of strip styrene?

Great Review Jason.

Here are a few things to add from my time on the real versions:

1)The muzzle reference sensor at the end of the barrel is mounted on the wrong place(should be mounted on the right hand side of the barrel)

2)Bracket for mounting the grousers on the front hull is missing all together(these mounts are horizontal mounts between the light clusters)

3) Light clusters missing mounting bolts and missing the horn on the left side.

4)Hull add on armour mounts, very weak in details and the hull add on armour, once past the first "brick" there is a noticeable space all the way to the rear.

5)For an in service version: do not mount slat armour, take off the 2 x ECM box's(kit shows these painted green , should be painted in tan)This will mean that you will have to add the slate armour mounts and the hundred of small Velcro patches and markings ( marking are the same as the Leo 2A6M, including the ladder dude).

6)Turret armour is very weak in detail as the kit's add on armour is missing the actual mounts along the turret sides.

This can all be fixed with a good walkaround selection of photos paying attention to these issues.

Which will be available soon on a DVD via Capital City AMPS, Edmonton Chapter (Home of the Leopards)

Cheers

Anthony

The key point to take into consideration with this conversion and any accuracy issues that are noted is that the conversion was not produced as a detailed conversion kit for modellers.

The conversion itself was originally solely designed at the request of KMW to be used to create display models or presentation models for those who worked on the Leopard 2A4M CAN in Germany.

Keep an eye out in a modelling magazine near you for a detailed walk around article on the Canadian Leopard 2A4M CAN.

LeoCmdr; could this kit be used on a Revell kit 03053 Leopard 2A4?

I have the kit myself and I think it should be no problem adapting to the Revell kit. I would prefer the Revell kit over anything from HobbyBoss Leopard 2 wise.

I suspect it could be adapted to the Revell kit if the dimensions are close to the Hobby Boss kit.

But, why don't you just wait for the soon to be released Hobby Boss Canadian Leopard 2A4M CAN?

I would go with Jason and wait for the hobbyboss kit I think it's going to be very worth while given that it's been caught pre release and made accurate, that said nothing against this conversion .

I confirmed today the Hobby Boss Leopard 2A4M CAN kit is still undergoing fine tuning for accuracy and details.

The Y-Modelle conversion is good but there are some details missing. The conversion was originally designed to be provided as presentation models when the real 2A4M CANs were produced so it is not totally up to the 1/35 eagle eye modeller scrutiny.....but a nice conversion none the less.
