Jeff the saladin was also used during a coup in Honduras back in 2009 and I think they also used during the fight in Tunisia and of coarse Lebanon just to name a few.

Hey don’t forget about the recent wars that just broke out in north Africa; Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia and not to mention the crap going one over in Syria right now. So there are plenty of technical that can be built from land rovers and Toyota hiluxs.

Mike and Jeremy I might have a solution to the question about the use of the BT-7 post war. I came across an article that talk about BT-7 and T-26 tanks were sold to Afghanistan, China, and Republic of China. The numbers sold are unclear, but more than likely just a hand full and not really confirmed. I found just one photo of Chinese T26 that was from the 1946-50 civil war, but nothing on the BT-7. Not to say they were really there, after all look at all the strange crap we’ve found in both Iraq and Afghanistan that no one knew were even sold to them. You could easy build the BT as either Afghan of Chinese.

Capation stated 1946, but could also be from the 30's

Yeah, this is kinda new to me ... digging up civil wars and not so popular uprisings & coups that just didn't get the exposure the major wars and conflicts did.

I still want to paint that T-72 like ... oh, if I switch again I'll get roasted at the stake.

Well, gotta go now work on the AC for my Blazer, then a date for some extra credit.

For this one I will use a Trumpeter's T-55 I got for 10 €, I got it just for the KMT mine roller, so I can use the rest of the tank for a civil war version , African or Middle-eastern, ex-russian version I hope.

Or I came across this, I think it was during the baltic uprising in 91-92:

It's a T-72 I think... not an expert but it looks like one..

I KNOW!!!

Just because I want to paint my T-72 a certain way too. No really, I think everything is in it's place and glad I have a home for these kits to rest at ... finally.

Stupid me impulse bought a few more kits I've been meaning to get so I need to quit shopping and do more building. I think that day may come tomorrow when all my little honey do things have been met.

I worked on the Blazer, cleaning the TBI and changing the oil. I needed to re-charge the A/C ... hopefully the leak has been repaired on the front seal.

Got my wife's PC (a Gateway) up and running with all files transferred. That thing is a beast too! I even had a PC issue myself, trying to download a program off the Internet and to actually have a hi-jack virus hidden in there somewhere. That took a few hours to fix and contain.

I attended a luncheon with my Mom and for my Mom PLUS, ran a gift to the PO for a fellow tanker that resides in the UK.

I hope tomorrow is my day. Got friends coming over in a few minutes to grill out and play a few games ... inside I hope because it's humid as you know what outside.

And then some Government work that I do look forward to learning and practising. Hopefully that all works out well.

So, I get wrapped up into so many things in one day I lose track of things and fall behind. I do have a lot to start building so I hope it goes that way.

Wish me luck!

Hi John,

That sounds cool I am also going to do the T55 as Gadaffis last gunfighter that I had planned for you cold war build.

Jeff,

If in between doing all that & you have a spare arm or two & a couple of hours, how about walking on water & reducing poverty man how do you find the time to model with all that going on!!

And be an editor to boot!! I'm in awe sir

John the picture you posted is a T-72B and which conflict not sure about.

If you want to build one, it can get a little pricy. The only kit available is from miniarm which requires two kits and a t-72 from tamiya.

Christopher: your thoughts are still the best lead I have to go on.

Mike: I'm not dead set on the BT-7 for this campaign, but now that this can of worms has been opened it would be nice to find a somewhat solid answer

Mike have you thought about possibly changing the time frame for this campaign? If you move the dates from post WW2 to the 30's or so, you might get more people on board. Just a thought. With Jeremy really set on his BT-7, it would open up more possibilities with the spanish civil war.

Like I said just a thought since it's your campaign.

Zvezda has these 2 "B" versions, I know they're not 100% accurate but..

If the Spanish civil war was on, a Pz I with the 20mm breda cannon would be pretty interesting too..
I will have to research some more conflits and used tanks/APC versus my stash...

Hi Chris,John & Jeremy,

I will give it a couple more days & see if we get anymore contenders & if not will look at opening it up, I just thought post WW2 would offer some different perspectives.

But I would like to see what Jeremy has in mind for the BT7

It was just a thought to throw out there, don't want to step on any toes. I still plan to build something post war, but alot of people enjoy earlier stuff.

I still have a couple more leads to look at for the Bt-7 for Jeremy.

Hi Chris,

All good you would be needing really big feet to step on my toe's trust me lol

And the idea certainly has merit!! If I did change the parameters I was thinking anything post 1917 until present that way opens up the October reveloution & Russian Civil war as well.

If the other guys are all ok with it??

You build it, they will come...........or in this case change the dates the fish start nibbling.

Jeremy I finally have been able to confirm that China did not use the BT-7, but instead used the BT-5.

Afghanistan I'm still not having any luck on. It's possible they received the OP-7 Flame tank instead. Still falls into the BT-7 family. It's not a true tank in the sense, but with the flame thrower it would suit the mountainess area better. This is just all a educate guess from here with no hard evidence.

Well,

If I change the dates that would make Jeremy in as far as I know which would give us the 10.

So if i get confirmation that it will give us our 10 then I will change & submit the new time frame & building dates.

I'm game if every body else is. I'm really looking foward to this campaign, already found a whole list of ideas. Nicagaria civil war, greek civil war, east german uprising 1953, hungarian uprising 1956 or prague uprising 1968. I might build a few if time warrants me.

Chris: Thanks for looking further into that for me. It appears that most countries preferred the BT-5 to begin with which makes finding examples of BT-7's even more difficult.

Mike: I'm in on this campaign regardless of what we find out about the BT-7, so don't change the time period if I'm the only one interested. I'm just as much a fan of modern armor as early armor. This campaign will be very cool either way.
I'm finding out that it is very unlikely that the BT-7 was used in the Spanish Civil war either, most of the photos seem to be of BT-5's. I thought I had some reference photos of a couple of BT-7's used during that conflict, but that was some time ago. If you did change the time period, I could use it as an example used in Manchuria such as during the Nomonhon Incident/Battle of Khalkhin Gol.

Brand=mirage I think. scale= 1/35th price=$15 (USD)including postage (via PayPal)The box is rough but the kit is fine, that is the way I got it. Give a couple of days and I can dig it out.
