Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for that well I am pretty sure that gives us our 10 so I will double check after work tonight & resubmit with the extended build time frame.

Thanks to all for coming on board & hopefully we can all have a fun , learning & slightly outside the box campaign!!

If anyone is keen / happy to a banner / campaign badge I would be very grateful as I have no idea on how to!!

Once again thank you Gents for helping to get the 1st campaign I have ever proposed of the ground.

Happy modeling
Cheers mike

You guys have some good ideas and insights! I was considering a Tamiya M48A3 on my shelf for a Pakistani M48 in 1965. Is that too tricky a conversion (no commander's turret, gas not diesel engine, idler different)? Does anyone have decent pictures (especially color) or a better use for the kit?
thanks,

I'll be ready to enlist also once approved. This should be very fun for all of us, so many options when it comes to civil wars. I'm might have my heart set on the Hungarian uprising since I have a BTR-40 just itching to build.

Sean I'm in the same boat as you, I want to build the early M48 that were used at Checkpoint Charlie, not for this campaign but a different build altoghter.

Chris,

Ugly?? Ugly!!! It is beautiful!!!
Yep that sure is the beast I am wanting to build, have been informed that it is a polish made beastie, do will be getting the correct 14 tooth drive sprocket & tracks & a new cupola set so I can use the tamiya ones on that TV62 you been helping me with.

Sean

Glad to see in my old age some part of the memory still works lol

Jeff the T-55 is from the more rescent lybia civil that just happened. Exact model, not clear to me, but like Mike said, it's possible a Polish made tank.

Mike I was hoping that was the version you were planning. Beyond ugly, but still pretty cool at the same time. I can see some of our rednecks around here building something like that.

Jeff & Chris,

I have been lead to believe that it is a polish built version, I have been send 3 photos none of show a top view but the consensus is that the fuel tanks on the fenders were removed to allow the "schutzen" armour to be added.

From what I have seen most of the extra armour is made from I beams

Hey Christopher,

Would you happen to have some more pics or variations of the M-18 in the...Serbian, croation, bosnian war? not sure what to call that war and who actually used the M-18. Thanks.

Hey Gary,

Sadly I think that war could be called the I hate you more war, with all the degradations & war crimes & digging up of centuries old hatred.

Have you had a look under the allided section incase someone has built one previously & has some reference photos with it??

I think I may have some decals you could use on croatian one I think, I can have a dig around if you need them.

Well second for me

Gary I will see what I can dig up for you on the m18. Do you want the straight up M18, or the T-55/M18 hybrid, or this wacky version?

WHOOOHOOO!!! Im No.3!

Christopher, I would love to do the T-55/M-18 Hybrid, but i dont figure ill be able to aquire a T-55 so ill do the M-18 straight up. The wacky M-18 would be pretty fun too. Never seen anything like that before.

Thanks man,
Gary

Hi Mike,

Wasnt sure what to call it, but your discription pretty well nailed it. The decals probably wouldnt be an issue considering i save every unused decal from every kit ive built in the last 5 years. I could probably piece them together. But if you have some relivant info id love to see it.

Thanks Mike.

Hey Gary, most, if any had hand painted serb, crot, yugoslav. bosnia marking on them. So really wouldn't need your decals. The fun part is making up your own markings.

Here is own that would have sand bags on the turret

The wacky M18 would be fun to make, it had a truck engine installed from a FAP (whatever that is)

Well I think I've norrowed down my project for this campaign. Plan to build a T-54 model 49 during the Hungarian uprising in 1956. Here's my example

Only thing is I'm not sure if these are the ones captured by the Huns or if their soviet troops mixed in with the croud of people. Either way plan to build a soviet version setting up a chechpoint.
