Looks good Keith and welcome!

Also, I discovered a new player (new to me rivet counters) in the Anti-Aircraft role

http://www.google.com/search?q=Japanese+Type+87+Self+Propelled+Anti-Aircraft+Gun&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=xGc&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=s3wrUMehNIaayQG9z4DQBg&ved=0CEUQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=633

in this sweet looking vehicle

that looks a lot like the Gepard with a touch of the Sheridan as well. Looks like it's based on the Type 74 MBT but will need to read up on it some more. I do like it!

Something to think about and or look out for too.

I have several panther kits laying about all looking to be built. I think I can come up with a few mods to place an aa on a hull. I did see a twin 88 mounted on a tiger II though that was just paper. Doubt that the hull could support such a contraption.Cromwell or Accurate armour came up with such a conversion.

Does anyone make a Marksman turret? It could be put on any of several hulls.

Keith, that is one cool lookin' AA tank right there!

Hey Jeff, i hope your feeling better bro and things will be great after you get your fix on. BTW if i stumble upon an M42 Duster, i may have to swap out my entry. I really like the Duster alot. We got plenty-o-time.

Take care Jeff,

@Gary--yeah, the Gepard has always intrigued me. Back in the '80s it was very futuristic looking in a Star Warsian sorta way.

That Marksman turret fits in that cosmic category too.

I can't wait for this Campaign to get started. My first build will be the AFV M730A1 Chaparral Air Defence System and then maybe the Italeri Crusader with the 40mm turret. While searching for possible subjects I came across this. The XM 166. They put a M 42 Duster turret on an M 548. There is even some Utube video showing this during trials. Was suppose the replace the M 42. Don M.

At the risk of being rude, or sounding anal but we call it a Campaign around here and not a GB.

But, your selection looks incredibly interesting and we all cannot wait for this to start. Thanks for joining!

I even have something fairly special?

I decided to take a swipe at a ribbon for this campaign:

It is based off of the British anti-aircraft badge, which is this:

Vance not as nice as the Marder Ribbon the image gets a little distorted when shrunk, sort of looks like a sailboat What does the blue strip signify, if anything

Welcome Jeff and your SA-6!

I don't know, try the ribbon without the arm and or just the bow and arrow?

What ya think guys?

I have to agree. The Bow and arrow would look better IMO. Dont like the arm.

Jeff
I'd be in for an AA Campaign. I'm doing research on the Half-track AA mounts now. That would fit right in with
the progress. That's a YEP

Blue strip doesn't mean anything - just looked weird with nothing there, i figured maybe there would be more AA campaigns in the future that could have more stripes, and aircraft are in the sky and that is blue - all pretty retarded reasons really, but most designs decisions are kinda weak like that anyway.

I agree it isn't really very clear when shrunk (a common problem)

I second the motion for the second one!

Looks really good Vance. Very easy to make out, and very obvious what it is, even when small.

thnaks guys, glad you liked that one. I get bored at work (one of those jobs where you sometimes just have to wait for other people to get their stuff done), so dabbling with making ribbons fills the time.
