Hi Gentlemen,

I myself dont care for the ribbon. Looks like a cat and i dont get the connection. I like the border colors though. Is a tree Marder vicious or something? Just my opinion guys

Gary

uhm... the fact that the entire line of weapons was named after the animal is not connection enough?

the panther campaign has a panther as part of the ribbon.

But yeah, they are basically like a cross between a ferret and a badger - small but pretty tough

Meant no disrespect man...just my opinion. Didnt even know what a marder was till i googled it. I know a badger is a mean son of a B#*&%!!!

No worries - that is why proposals are 'proposals' anyway.

here is another ribbon idea so we have some selection:

Hi Folks,

Just like to register my vote for the original ribbon, Pine Martens are a tough little predator and the description of their activity shows why the Germans decided upon the name...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/European_Pine_Marten

And chasing squirrels, as well as eating peanut butter gets my vote...

All the best,

Paul

I think it works if the animal is a Tiger or a Panther, but when it comes down to something like a Marder it becomes less popular.

And less unknown too.

It's a good job that in the 1930s they called the new Supermarine fighter the Spitfire and not the Shrew, as was first proposed. I suppose it is how you view the animal, but it wouldn't have been the same in all the comics in the 60's if the Nazi pilots were yelling 'Achtung Spitzmaus!!!'. I think the Marder name does convey the idea of a predator darting about and being a sneaky adversary, but I have to admit the animal itself doesn't have the menace of a Tiger or Panther. Whatever the design of the ribbon I think it will be a fine addition and I am liking this campaign more and more.

All the best,

Paul

Well, I am glad to hear that as I try to come up with what will be a success (as I'm sure it's the same for everyone else too) and glad you are on board with us!

Hello,

Great campaign idea, as i have both Marders from Tamiya in the stash.
However i will not sign up for this campaign in support of Paul Badman.
I think its a mistake not to allow a modern Marder named vehicle in, but then allow a Wespe, that has nothing to do with Marders.
Of corz its all up to the campaign leaders rules, but then, i really want to support Paul on this one.

I shut up now

Have a great campaign.

The decision to not allow the Modern Vehicles in this Campaign came way before it was asked and was not personal in any way as it was laid out in the rules.

You kind Sir have made the matter personal by openly boycotting the Campaign.

Pretty immature way of thinking wouldn't you say.

Good luck to your future matters.

Shame to introduce a sour note to what was shaping up to be a fun campaign, but as the quote runs - '...you can't please all of the people all of the time...'.

I can't understand why people try to customise campaigns to their own liking, you join up with the criteria set out by the founder and get on with it, simple really.

Just to refresh the Campaign ideas, you guys should really check out this months issue of Fine Scale Modeler. On the cover and inside is a build special by Bill Plunk on a WESPE, which is allowed in this Campaign. Very sweet!

Also, a simple recipe for making mudd which I plan to attempt on one of my builds. And of course their beautiful gallery which I see Joes scratch built Buffalo making a big splash!

Hi all, what do you say to that?

Well to start with I asked a question, and got an answer that I shall pay respect to. In other words I´ll do WWII Marder.

Secondly, I should have read the rules all the way to the end, instead of popping the question to early.

Thirdly, this is more for Tony: Hey mate don´t write things like that, the way I read it, it sounds like I´ve started some kind of "Boycott" against this campaign which is most certainly not true.
I´m new here, I joined in March of this year, and that is not the kind of publicity I need or want.

Well now I´ve gotten that of my chest, I hope that this will still turn out to be a fun campaign. Even though I still haven´t chosen which vehicle to replicate.
Cheers
Paul

Hi, fellow WWII German open-top Marder fans!

I'm signed up for this one - it'll be either that Tamiya III M kit with some Tristar 38(t) tracks in place of the rubber-bands, maybe a metal barrel, and some Eduard PE, or the Tristar III H kit pretty much OOTB, or that Dragon Marder II with (maybe) the up-grade PE kit.

Of course there is that Bronco Marder I H-39 kit, or maybe that RPM Lorraine Marder I waiting around... and all cool!

Let those Marders roll (come JAN 2013, of course)!

Bob
