Hey fellas,

You guys are right, just go with the original plan and do the The Befehlsjager 38 M. The camo would be a great challenge.

Hi Gary,
I agree, stick to the original plan !
You can always join the Panzer 38(t) Brigade Campaign with the other kit... [Big hint]

Oh come on Gary, that paint job is no challenge to the Jedi warrior of the Airbrush . You could do that blindfolded, with one arm tied behind your back and balancing a crab tank in mid air using the "force"

Mr. Boggs employes elf's to do all his work,
so one more Campaign won't even be a sweat for him.

Your Dragon Marder must have twice the parts of my Tamyia.

I'm not sure yet about the camo, either Winter or African Campaign...

Cool guys, we're underway I guess and tomorrow is the Sherman Campaign too.

Looks like we'll all be busy.

Man John, I loved building the Marder you have right now about 9 or 10 years ago. I hand painted the camo on that one but still want an all gray version like the boxart so I think I might go looking for one as it was that impressive of a build.

Maybe even get some Friuls for it this time. I did see several Italeri kits on the other Marder versions (especially the Ausf.H) that look good too.

I still have some other Marder's from Tamyia, Tristar & Dragon so I might cover all the fronts, summer & winter..
Still undecided as usual..

Jeff, which camo did you use ? do you have photos of your build ?

Jeff, any issues or little problems that I should expect ?

I know, a Tamyia shake&bake kit shouldn't have any issues..

But we never know ...

NO, no problems... probably why I like it so much. This was my last kit I built with tube glue as I later joined ARMORAMA and learned about liquid cement.

The tracks have got to go as ALL Marder pics have some track sag.

That H version is staring to grow on me! I just wonder how well the Italeri kit is? I can get it much cheaper than the Tamiya version you are about to build.

I just can't see spending over 40 bucks for another Campaign when I have so many to finish. And I do have a Tamiya Marder II on the shelf here.

Thanks for the pics!

Jeff,

Well, this campaign showed up at the right time... I was just about to start cutting plastic on this....

Sorry there isn't a date....

Figured that I may as well let you all suffer through the build along with me. Part of the reason that this will be a longer build is that I will be doing this vehicle....

It appears from some of the features that it is one of the first 18 built (visor on the off side of the drivers compartment). This means that because the kit I have is a late version that I will have to backdate it.... starting with the bump stops for the road wheel swing arms. The kit has the later coil springs on 3 of the positions, I need the solid ones... which means that I had to draw them...

Then I get to make them all. Figure that I will remake the ones the kit has so that all of them look equally as bad, or good... probably covered with mud.

Will get started in a day or so... as soon as I can shovel a path to the bench.

Bob
